We choose this hotel on price and availability but became very hesitant after booking when we read several negative reviews on the Internet.
However our whole experience was very positive. Parking was right below the hotel and reasonably priced. Front desk staff welcoming, helpful and friendly. Our Superior room with sofa was clean comfortable and quiet with tea/coffee and mini-bar. The hot powerful shower and separate bath came with plenty of soaps etc and the bed very comfortable and supportive. The bed height is the European norm i.e. lower than the British/Irish/American norm.
Negative observations - 1. the closet was more suited to a single room, with room for just about 5 hangers, the closet included just a couple of shelves, but no drawers. 2. the 'view' from the room didn't bother us but we could see it might bother others - looking directly into the next door Holiday Inn swimming pool / EuropaCar garages. 3. the exterior of the Hotel was as interesting as a big square grey box - as per many big hotel chains and the interior was just as glum with long boring but quiet carpeted corridors leading to the rooms. However the hotel has very good disabled access to lifts/elevators with large buttons (for each floor) within easy reach for people who use wheelchairs although our room would've been inaccessible to a chair user.
Buffet Breakfast was included in our booking and the choice was very comprehensive - I doubt any 'choosey' person would not have found something that suited, hence the restaurant was busy, it had with ample tables at peak times. Staff were very friendly and efficient in keeping the food areas clean and well stocked. Tables were cleared and cleaned quickly. Unlike the upper floors the restaurant was bright modern and nicely decorated
The hotel was close to the u/s-bahn station but not tram/bus stops, the neighbourhood appeared safe. Checkout efficient with no over charging. In fact the desk staff waived some mini-bar charges due to a small inconvenience which we had not raised nor were we not bothered about it (the staff had brought the issue to our attention). We will stay here again.

Room Tip: Rooms facing river may suit those bothered by lack of a scenic view. The larger executive room is on...

We stayed at this hotel and found it had everything we needed. The staff were very accommodating prior to our arrival as they secured a booking for a family room for us when neither an agent nor the online booking could be done as there appeared to be no rooms left. Upon arrival we were quickly processed and sent on our way up to our room where a staff person was already turning our children's bed out for us (pullout couch). The location is ideal for discovering Munich or for using it as a jumping off point to see other places in Bavaria. We spent a lot of time on the trains and S-Bahn seeing Salzburg, Neuschwanstein castle, Mittenwald and a few other places that are only a few hours away. Get the Bayern pass for your family, it's very reasonable. The hotel is very clean and well kept. The pool area is like entering a sports club and was beautiful! The pool was a bit on the small side though. One thing that I think the hotel could improve on is the computer access or better yet provide free wifi in the rooms or lobby. The computers were occupied all day and all night long and the wait time varied from 10 minutes to 40 minutes to get on a computer. Not to mention the fact that you have to live through the rowdy guests that were there around the 14th who let their wives and kids set up camp in the lobby and rampaged the toy room and were screaming. This was not the fault of the hotel, just rude guests. The breakfast (which we included in our room cost because it's a better value) was amazing. I would have liked them to change it up a bit from day to day, but it was very good. Homemade items, 8 types of sausages to try, juices galore, breads of various kinds, a yoghurt bar, fruit, meats and cheeses, eggs in various forms including an omelette chef and pancakes. What more could you want??
We were able to walk to the Marienplatz and other parts of Munich or used the S-Bahn from our hotel. Please take note that the S-Bahn is closed for repairs in July and August 2012 from Friday 6:00PM to Monday morning 6:00 AM for construction. This was a bit inconvenient and if we had stayed at a hotel further out it might have been a little upsetting, but instead we walked and enjoyed the fresh air and found other beautiful views to look at. The Holiday Inn down the road is crazy with tour busses and very busy, you might want to consider this hotel instead! We will stay at this hotel again when we come back to Munich.

We stayed here for one night on 14.07.2012. We normally patronize novotel chain of hotels and therefore are used to a minimum standard of efficiency. While checking in the hotel after a long day of travel, we were assigned a room, which when we entered, we found that it was not ready. Then they assigned us another room, which was not what we had booked. On our again requesting and going up and down twice with the room keys despite being tired, we were finally allotted the room category that we had booked. This process wasted one full hour.

The room was very bare in its furnishing.

The location is outside the old town area, though it is walkable. The staff was courteous and polite. The area around the hotel appeared to have some scattered refuge material thrown around and needs cleaning up.

I am not sure if I would choose this hotel again.

Fair hotel. Very well located, friendly staff, clean room. Bads: the breakfast must be improved, especially considering the 20.00 euros price pp; internet access overpriced; beds not so confortable.
