This quirky little restraint has amazing food with traditional German food. I'd highly recommend the spaetzle mit bacon. It's like a German mac and cheese. We came two nights in a row the staff were so friendly spoke French German Italian and English. The almost museum like interior is dedicated to Joseph Roth. And a wonderful candle lit environment with traditional violinists and guitarists a must visit if in Potsdamer platz

JRD is full of style and serve classic german food with quality and with a great price. I loved the cozy environment, and to get to know more about the writer thought the stories in the walls. Really pleasant experience!

We choose this restaurant for lunch, one of the view restaurants that were open this early in the day. The place is small and quirky but the staff very nice. They have a view tables put together so chances are you have to sit with strangers. But the whole vibe of the place is easy going so you don't mind. The food was served incredibly fast and the portion was big for lunch. The price is very good too. Would recommend for an interesting beak and a bit of old 1940 charm in the middle of the big city buzz.

Ignore the other TripAdvisor reviews, this is the best tasting and best priced German restaurant in Berlin. They serve all the classics (sauerbraten and schnitzel are my favorites) in a really cozy atmosphere with occasional live piano. It is filled with locals too so you know you're in the right place.

I would look at the menu in German posted outside and google it to figure out what you want. They only translate part of the menu to English so you may not be able to get everything (i.e. Sauerbraten isn't on the English one) if you don't look at the local menu.

The food was very good and the staff were friendly. It was very well priced however the tables were far too close together which made the atmosphere a bit weird as you were practically sitting with the next table. Might come again, not if I want any privacy
