A very popular, 'hip', place, We queued for around 15 minutes before being sat at a shared table (there were 5 of us and the table just about took 7, so we joined two diners already in place). The atmosphere was fun and lively. Service was quick and both friendly and helpful,
Two shared starters - chicken skewers and spring rolls - were both very good. I then had one of the specials - duck in a spicy sauce with rice and salad - which was good. My wife's Hanoi Pho and daughter's won ton soup were both fine, but a bit thin and, after all we had heard about the place, disappointing.
Drinks are good and well priced. The teas are interesting. The wine list is well chosen for Vietnamese food including a nice sauvignon blanc by the glass and a Riesling by the bottle.
'Fun rather than foodie' probably sums it up best,

Limited menu, but that's not really a problem
Vegetarian and vegan options were available and they were also able to cater for a nut allergy
The food's good and surprisingly cheap
It has a trendy feel to it. Most of the other diners appeared to be locals
Tables could be considered a bit cramped but that's part of its charm
Serving staff were very good and spoke English
We couldn't book and it was full when we arrived but we were told to come back in 15 minutes and went to one of the many nearby bars to while away the time

This place was very disappointing. Service want great. You sat on share tables and had to disturb the other people on the t able each time someone arrived or needed to get out to go toilet or leave restaurant. Hardly any noodles in my noodle soup, extremely limited menu too. Would not recommend.

We like Vietnamese food, and we really enjoyed this hip, relaxed joint. It's in a cool neighborhood with great shopping nearby.

Have been to Monsieur Vuong at least 3 times. Soups are great and sometimes the curries are good too but mostly very oily. Great service though!
