The bombed-out church stands as a memorial to the destruction of Berlin toward the end of the wall. This has always been one of the centers of the city. This church is sad yet important.

The exhibition in the church remains is really interesting. You get an insight into the scale of the original building and the devastation caused by the bombing. Photographs are fascinating. The new church is small but with a unique design. The light inside is fantastic.

All that was left of the church after the bombing raids reminds us with war it is the civilians that suffer most. The ruin is well run with friendly and helpful guides. With excellent diagrams and a history of the church. The new church beside it is well worth a visit too

A true Berlin must see! And visit both churches. The ruins for its history and the new for its design.

This lovely old remand of an impressive church has many of the original mosaics; it must have been very impressive when it was whole because it is still beautiful.
