Stayed here for 5 nights to visit the Christmas markets. Pretty central location within a ten minute walk to Checkpoint Charlie (you can see it from the front door of the hotel) and within about a 20 minute walk of Unter den Linden and Gendarmenmarkt market. My room was a good size (room 122) with a good size bathroom and a very comfy bed. It overlooked an inner 'courtyard' so was lovely and quiet. My only slight gripe was that the blackout curtains only cover about 2/3 of the window, so the room stayed quite light. The hotel says it has a bar, which it has, but it's next door!! and it's closed on Sunday and Monday!! The staff were friendly and helpful. I didn't see the staircase that's in the pics on the website though...think the hotel is 2 parts! I'd stay here again.

Dear Jean,

thank you very much for your rating.

We are happy to hear that you liked especially the Hotels location, our staff and your room.

Of course we forwarded your fact regarding the curtain situation in the room already to the persons in charge. We do have the staircase that is published on our Website. It is in the older part of the building. Please do not hesitate to contact the Reception at your next stay to see the staircase.

Thank you once again for your rating. We are looking forward to welcoming you soon again.

Best regards

This is a no frills hotel, as another customer wrote. I agree totally. 4 stars, but more like a 3-star. No shampoo, you pay for the bottle of water in the room, the soap pump in the bath is old, there is no real 4-star lobby when you enter. Rather impersonal- you come and you go with nobody noticing you (due to the front desk being on the side)The 2 good points: well situated and a quiet room.

The location is great. Only some minutes walk to most places in „Mitte“. Also check Point Charlie is close. You have a lot of restaurants and cafes near by. Hotel is nice clean and has big rooms. Also my room was very quite. Only problem was I had no telephone signal at my room. I can defend recommend it

Remember those horror movies with hotels..... slightly dimmer lighting, outdated furniture and unsmiling staff. That’s this place. To add to the theme, we realised that when the lift took us to our 6th floor room, there was no 5th floor. Maybe that’s where all the good stuff was hidden, but we certainly couldn’t find it in the rest of the hotel. Hope you do!

Dear Mr. Wyatt-Gunning,

first of all we would like to thank you for your rating. With every comment you give us the chance to improve the hotel itself and to make the stay for every guest as comfortable as possible.

We are deeply sorry to hear that you weren't satisfied with your stay at all. Please note that the Hotel consists of an old part and a new part. The elevator in the historical part is doesn't have the 3rd and 5th floor.

We do apologize for any inconveniences caused. Thank you once again for your ratings and have a nice day! We wish you all the best.

Kind regards

The hotel is nice, good room and clean and is a good location for visiting Berlin.
Unfortunately we got room 820 (top floor) witch is located under the airco unit on the roof. This causes a constant background noise !!

Room Tip: Top floor (8th) room 820 has a annoying noise from roof airco unit.
