We had some amazing late night cocktails at this wonderful bar, which has some incredible views of Berlin at night. The cocktails served here were divine to say the least with a taste of paradise. Sitting near the window with the cocktails in our hands and seeing the amazing night views was just straight out of a movie scene, in fact it was better than a movie scene because it was for real. Overall this was a fantastic late night cocktail drinking session in a relaxed and peaceful environment and we left extremely happy with our overall experience.

We have been here several times before and have always really enjoyed it but this time it did not meet its usual standards.

We were very much looking forward to visiting Skykitchen on January 2nd, 2018 during our trip to Berlin. We made our reservation in July 2017. Unfortunately, in mid-December we received an email from the restaurant informing us that they had to cancel our reservation as they would be closed during this time for the winter break and “technical renovations.”

Needless to say we were incredibly disappointed, having reserved our table online 6 months in advance. Surely the restaurant had decided upon winter break times well in advance of December 14th, when they decided to send us a generic email?

I did respond to the email, saying that we were disappointed and recommending they block off online booking dates in future. I received no response.

Surprising and frustrating behaviour from a restaurant of this caliber.

I think this is one of the most amazing dinners I have ever had. The location of the Skykitchen is glorious, on a top floor looking out over the city of Berlin and the surrounding area. It is hard to describe the meal because it is by no means the standard good-quality food from a quality restaurant. Rather, this is more an experience of sight, smell and taste. We chose the 3 course dinner and the portions are quite small, but the restaurant supplements with an amuse bouche, a terrific bread basket, and an intense sorbet in between the last two courses. I was not hungrey at all. Each course is presented in surprising and often amusing ways. I particularly enjoyed the quail and the venison which was melt in your mouth tender with the most delicious sauce. So, you have to be prepared for a non-traditional food experience when you go to the Skykitchen. It is one you will not forget.
