We had a rainy day keeping us from Berlin Mitte but saving us from twiddling our thumbs. While one of the children was a reluctant participant at first he ended up really enjoying the exhibits. Great layout and a variety of exhibits which kept everything interesting. The cafe was excellent and provided a perfect break along the tour.

A three generational fun day in the cold and sleeting winter time. A family pass for 4 and 2 adults, no senior discounts. I don't remember the exact amount but definitely a treat for anyone interested in wildlife and rainforest plants. The highlight for the 5 and 3 year olds was the butterfly house with butterflies resting on stationary shoulders and arms; making great picture times.
Feeding the pond fish and the submarine exhibit with it periscope and glass ceiling into the bottom bottom a big hit too. It is worthy of your time with young children for about 2-3 hours with a cafe for lunch or drink breaks.

Great to walk around again. The plants, flowers and wildlife are always kept in such wonderful condition. The butterfly house was so full of life with lots to see. Well worth a visit.

If you really like nature & you ever been in a jungle it's a good alternative.
The vegetation is nice & all the small animals give you a good & quick overview about the jungle.
I definitely can recommend the Biosphare.

When you visit Potsdam it's mostly about castles or the movie park, but hardly anybody knows about the biosphere!
It's for the whole family as well as for a romantic walk for couples!
You walk through a jungle and it's nice and warm. You can see huge plants, wonderful flowers, all kind of little colorful birds flying around free. Watch ducks, see turtles find little creatures and even beautiful fish in a beautiful pond. You can see beautiful butterflies in the butterfly house and learn everything about them. The staff is very kind and willing to explain about their passion for plants, butterflies, birds even snakes and frogs.......
They also have the café called rainforest cafe where you can sit, rest and eat a little meal while enjoying the wonderful environment. For the kids there is a lot to learn and it's like a big game. Kids and grown up's can have a day full of quality time together.
Every hour there is a rainforest thunderstorm with rain and depending what season different exhibitions.
They also have a restaurant which a big brunch every weekend with life music.
And the is a hugh ballroom you can rent for
events, like big birthday parties or a wedding reception!
All in all we had a wonderful day in biosphere in potsdam and i can say if you're visiting Berlin and Potsdam you have to see this as long as it still exists! The city of Potsdam wants to close this wonderful garden of eden due to costs :-(.
So hurry up and spend a day in the biosphere in Potsdam.
For only 11€ admission and it's worth every cent!
