Traditional food. Not a culinary experience but not bad at all on a German food scale. The surroundings has the flavor of ancient times as the place stems back from the 12. century.

Looking for a restaurant near our hotel, we discovered this traditional German restaurant and were very pleasantly surprised by the service, quality of the food and the maritime themed interior. Probably one of the better choices if near the central station – apart from one or two hotel restaurants.

The food was totally delicious, we were a group of five and all of us ordered different dishes. The atmosphere is very original you feel like in a ship and it is nicely decorated. The service was excellent and warm, prices are just very good although the place is in the city center. So I totally recommend and would love to return!

Excellent German food, very very good friendly (English speaking too) service and very good beer too!
Highly recommend this place for hearty German food served in good-sized portions with a smile and in a slightly quirky setting (as the name would suggest lots of maritime artefacts decorate the main eating room).

My impression is that there isn't a surfeit of good eating places around the Hauptbahnhof and from the outside this seemed like the best of the bunch. The interior is slightly gloomy on a bright summer evening but the food was fine and I'm sure you could do a lot worse.
