Almost everything was broken and dirty and even impossible to get coffee in evening. There was not nothing and it costs 150€ per night like some luxhotel. In gemany you can get for 50€ very good hotelroom but this is like some wasteland. Dirty 30 year old carpets, lights without cover with open cables in room, everyvere dirt. we paid 150€ per night and even wifi was with additional 5€ per computer, for smartphone need pay again. How its possible in Germany that hotel like this can stay open and not closed by authorities? How can booking.com offer scrap like thisone? Next time I better take accomodation by airbnb.

Room Tip: Stay away and find something else.

Hotel Diplomat. Hmm. On arriving at night, the neon sign outside only had 3 letters working, so it was known as the "hotel Dio" for the duration of our stay. The decor is VERY 70's, probably hasn't been updated since.
Plus points, it's very clean, the continental breakfast included in the price is good, and it's a few minutes walk from the Zoo and Zeilstrasse.
Negative points, the mild neglect, lumpy pillows, noisy area.

Very poor Hotel...Shabby but not dirty...Some staff were not friendly...TV didn't work...The Shower was awful...But in a decent area...And it was cheap, so I suppose I should not complain...But why not...They need to fix their outside sign sign...Only the O in Diplomat lit up....Ha ha...

We stayed here for two nights. The location is nice, very close to S-bahn and European Central Bank, very safe and quiet. However, the hotel and its facilities were in a very poor condition. The rooms were dirty and smelly, the beds were loud with every move and not comfortable. A very little room. There is no free wifi, we have purchased the wifi access for 5 EUR, the connection was sketchy and available for one device only. The breakfast was (in relation to the hotel condition) fairly good.

Room Tip: To choose a good room you better check another hotel :)

Stay here during a motorbike tour of Europe, it by far the worst hotel of the trip and probably THE worst hotel I have ever stay in.

Having to pay upfront is generally a bad sign and this place was very bad.

Firstly, the entire place smelled terrible and could do with a deep clean.

Both rooms we had were shocking, with the furniture dropping to bits, the window broken, the shower broken and yet more stench.

The only good thing about the place was that in order to spend as little time here as possible we spent the evening in the city centre and got up at 06:30 to get back on the road as soon as possible. The early start gave us more time in our next destination, Soest.

I would absolutely not stay in this place again, I'd rather sleep in the nearby park.
