We were fortunate to have a tour guide no only share about the castle, but the surrounding market and town. Lots of history in this small town. The walk is a bit steep, with choice of stairs or cobblestone paths. Find the references around town that celebrates the Grimm brothers.

Just got to the Castle. What a great view of the city! Museum closes at 4pm so need to get in no later than 3:30 pm.

The castle is beautiful, the museum has some very interesting part but it´s not worth the visit in a sunny day unless you have a lot of time. Rather walk around in the garden and in the forest nearby. If it´s cold or raining spend 1-1.5 hours in the museum, it is interesting, just nothing unforgettable.

Visited the museum and the reformation exhibition. The castle is a great place but no cafe/restaurant. Beware the museum opens at 11am even though they sell tickets already at 10am. Great views and nice yard in the castle.

The Marburg Castle sits high above the beautiful, historic hilltop city with its half-timbered houses, cosy streets and thousands of steps. It is a reasonably short but steep walk from the town square but there is also a regular bus service, and if you don't mind a few narrow, bumpy and steep roads, you can even drive there! The Museum covers the long history of the castle in a well-designed and not overwhelming presentation (not really for people with walking difficulties). There is a restaurant/cafe nearby but not inside the castle.
