If you happen to be in the area Schillergarten has a lovely beer garden from which one can admire the Blue Wonder Bridge . . . or, even better, purchase a scoop or two of their homemade ice cream for only 1.00€ per scoop. The Black Forrest flavor is spectacular

I have been staying Dresden for 7 months, and this restaurant is my favorite German one here. Very nice riverside view, and great food with kind waiters. They also have a big screen for football game!

Very delicious food and helpful service even though we didn't speak German and they were quite busy. The sausages and roasted pork were all very good.

We were on the Elba Princess, a river boat primarily for French passengers. It docked just under the Blue Bridge and we were very tired of the French food onboard, so decided to walk over to Schillergarten. Must say we passed up several small restaurants from one bank to the other, that also looked inviting, but we were in the mood for German food. And that we got. Schillergarten is huge with indoor bar seating, glass enclosed seating overlooking the Elba, outdoor seating both in the beer garden with a huge TV (but this might just have been for the soccer tournament) and outdoor seating in a garden setting or nearly at riverside.

The menu was in 5 languages and offer all the very typical German food and of course several types of beer. Just what we were looking for. I had the crispy pork knuckle with sauerkraut and potatoes balls (can't think of the German name for it!) all very good...not the best I've had but certainly tasty. VERY reasonable prices and beer is downright cheap. Good service, good German food and should we every sail by again, I would stop for another knuckle.
