Located in a little cup de sac just behind Malaga museum, very pleasant gallery and an oasis of calm right in heart of Malaya.

I was never that fascinated about portrait oil-paintings like here. The paintings are absolutely beautiful, well composed, the light is catched on the canvas, the details of the clothes and expressions of the portrayed people is fantastic. The artist captured the beauty of each person in his paintings and worked out the special personal character. Amazing!!!

I have been visiting this museum a few times in 5 years and never get tired of it. It is quiet and hidden away from the tourists track. I love it that way it is not crowded with chattering crowd. You can really take your time to enjoy every painting.
If you ever want to paint figures and portraits, this museum will inspire you to pick up the courage.

Delighted to see some pictures we recognised but were not aware of the artist. Not a large gallery but clearly de Toro was very good.

Popped in here on a rainy Sunday after hearing mass in the Cathedral as it's just round the corner and opens at 10am. The 10 minute film on Pedro de Mena was really informative especially if you've seen some of his works in the cathedral and other museums. The house itself is beautifully restored and a pleasure to stroll through.
The portraits were picture perfect . Didn't realise he had been commissioned to paint Queen Sofia in the past. My favourites had to be 'The girl in the Red Stockings' and 'The Twelve Faces of Woman' series. In the last hall at the very bottom, you come face to face with the grand masterpiece 'In deep sleep'. Veil upon veil of white captures his wife in' the arms of Morpheus.'
