While we were there the elevator was not working due to renovations & we were given a small room, small bath with a double bed. Not all rooms are the same. Many on our tour were given twin beds or larger rooms. The hotel is old & beautiful & close proximity to the Alhambra. We were just very disappointed in our room.

Once you have found this hotel which is down the side of the entrance to the Alambra you enter into a superb hotel. The staff are very friendly and helpful, the rooms are excellent and the interior is fabulous. But saving the best until last the views are spectacular over Granada. Although not in the center of Granada it is only a short but steep walk down to the old town and a taxi back is very inexpensive.

Room Tip: Book directly with the hotel and get a city view

This hotel is well located near the Gerenalife area of the Alhambra and the main entrance is a short 15 minutes walk away. If you need to join a tour in the morning at the Alhambra this is a good place to stay.

I had a room facing the city with a balcony looking down to the city and the view was spectacular. Service was quite good and friendly, and the overall feel in the hotel is warm a cozy. I would recommend this hotel to friends who wish to visit the Alhambra and also the nice city of Granada.

Fabulous traditional, opulent, elegant hotel overlooking one of Spain's most historic cities.
The rooms are beautiful - comfortable, well sized, lovely bathroom, everything has a view - no complaints there.
The terrace has a fantastic view across the city and to the open country beyond. It's open from mid morning until very late, and serves a good variety of alcohol and some very well presented and tasty food - salads, tapas, etc.
The main lounge area is very open, airy and looks comfortable but actually didn't spend any time there; and the function rooms are stunning - lots of glass and lights - we saw them dressed for a wedding the day we left, and it was beautiful sight.
All the staff are very polite and friendly and helped us with bookings and taxis, recommendations, etc.
My ONLY issue was with breakfast. They offer a fabulous buffet full of everything you could ever want - toast, pastries, cereal, fruit, yoghurt, cheese, ham, etc etc BUT also hot food, and everybody knows that hot breakfast food doesn't survive very well in warming dishes. The eggs were rubbery, unappetising and tasteless, the mushrooms were waterlogged and had no flavour, and the bacon was once crispy but rapidly became soggy in its enclosed environment.
I would expect a 4* (5*?) establishment with this reputation to offer individually cooked breakfasts to those who want it. Such a disappointment but slightly mitigated by the fact that they had bottles of Champagne open to accompany the buffet!
Also a great shame that it doesn't have a pool, but can sort of understand why not, and internet connection was rubbish.

Staff were excellent: So attentive, friendly, helpful. Took our cases before we even got into the building. Bent over backwards to find the football match for me on the TV!! Location couldn't be better for visiting the Alhambra and easy to get to with a bus stop right outside. Amazing views over the city (make sure you ask for this when you book) Food in the restaurant was fantastic. Decor and overall impression of the place really great.
Only negative was the room was a bit small for what we paid, but it was perfectly adequate for a short stay.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a city view. Unless you're scared of heights!
