Stayed here 4 nights. Found that rooms were a little noisy because the sound of doors closing and suit cases rattling over the tiles echoes around the courtyards. Great location though and the bar on the corner of the street was super for a nightcap on the way home! I assumed that as a hotel it would have a bar and restaurant but it doesn't. It does offer a buffet breakfast however. Rooms were clean, bed and pillows comfortable and toiletries topped up daily.

We stayed for 3 days at the end of September - in room 14 on ground floor. Ideally located a few metres off the historic Carrera del Darro, close by the Alhambra, the historic Albeicin and the cathedral.Very friendly staff, buffet breakfast had good choice. Only downside was some noise from the adjoining alley and also from the internal courtyard - would recommend a room on a higher floor. Overall a great location to base yourself on a visit to Granada, and a nice change from bland chain hotels

On the other hand, we are sorry that you were disturbed by the noise from the internal courtyard, we wish you had told this to the Reception, I am sure they would have offered you a room on a higher floor and quieter.
We hope that you enjoyed your stay and thank you once again for your opinion.
We would be really glad to see you once again.

This place has history to spare. It has been restored as much as possible. However there are some issues with sinks not draining and a mustiness that is ever present. If being close to the Alhambra and old city streets is critical, this place fills that criteria. However if you like a hotel that is clean and fresh and quiet, you might want to look elsewhere. The staff is very pleasant and helpful. The breakfast buffet is generous and extensive. The place is old however. Something to keep in mind when deciding where to stay in Granada. We were here for 3 nights and in hindsight, 2 nights would have been enough to see everything we wanted to explore.

I've been vacillating over whether it was 3* or 4*. I went with 4*.

The first thing I'd say is do not use google maps to find the car park the hotel recommends. It leads you up a blocked off road. Use the excellent directions the hotel emails you when you book however it's helpful to have an access to a map as well. It's not possible to access the hotel by car. Once parked the hotel will apparently pay for your taxi ride to the vicinity of the hotel (50 yds) but it's only a 10 minute walk and, as we had a small amount of luggage, we walked.

Once the taxi has dropped you off (or if walking) the hotel is off the road up a moderately steep set of steps and there are lots of steps in the hotel itself. This is not a good choice for those with restricted mobility.

The receptionist was excellent. He was the only staff member we met!

We paid £101 for a night via Hotels dot com. The hotel itself is a lovely old building beautifully renovated. Our room (on the ground floor) was comfortable and spacious. However the wifi was slow and there were significant 'plumbing noises' in the form of rushing water from other rooms. We didn't take the breakfast option as there are lots of eating places and my wife wanted to try a special one - reviewed separately.

The location was great. As i mentioned I vacillated on whether it was 3* or 4* because of the plumbing noise we had. I decided in the end that that was probably part of being in an older building and, as we knew what we signed up for, it would be harsh to penalise them for it.

Wow! What an atmospheric hotel, we only stayed one night but wished we could have stayed longer. The room we had was fantastic, the service we received was also fantastic, and the breakfast was all you could wish for, something suitable for everyone's taste. The hotel is located within the old quarter of Granada, ideal for the Alhambra Palace, with plenty of local bars and restaurants to choose from. Access around this area of Granada is restricted and is only accessible via taxi or on foot.

Room Tip: The best room in the hotel is called the ' Alhambra '
