Outstanding hotel services. Rooms were impeccable and beautiful. Decoration is original and chic. Had breakfast and dinner. Both were great. Location is right in the middle of old town. I definitely would go back again!

Room Tip: Luxury (basic)Room is big enough for 2 people.

This hotel is a grand hotel with a contemporary twist. It has all the amenities one would excpect of a five star city hotel, excellent bedrooms with extremely comfortable beds, well equipped bathrooms with powerful shower and a delicious breakfast included in the room rate. We had a first floor room with a little private terrace which was an unexpected bonus. It also has a gorgeous roof terrace area for sunbathing and enjoying the roof top view. It is also well located being a short walk from the central historic sites and the river and near to some excellent restaurants. (Tata Pila only 5 minutes away). I have stayed in other places in Seville previously but I was impressed and will return.

was here for 4 nights, on a biz trip. Stayed on the "red Level", basically the club floor concept, and the lounge serves wonderful canapes, local tapas, wines and other liquors, altogether a real oasis for a break or meeting with friends. B'fast in both the lounge and regular dining room v. good. Two problems with the hotel, esp for a biz person: internet v. weak, sometimes not accessible...really, in this day and age? It was somewhat shocking, given the superior level of service and comfort in the hotel. The other problem: not one entertainment channel (of many) on the TV in English, neither British or American. For tourists in the hotel for 1 or 2 nights, internet and TV may not be big items, but for a longer stay, and on business, especially the internet, needs to be ramped up. Then it would be well-nigh perfect.

With a couple of quibbles (one of which may be important to people of a certain age), the Gran Melia is a great hotel to consider.

Its attractive lobby is friendly and welcoming, a feeling that is enhanced by the informal reception desk, where we registered while sitting in a comfortable chair.

Employees were super-nice, friendly and helpful without a trace that they were going through the motions. Concierges attacked special requests enthusiastically.

Included breakfast was more than ample: Eggs, lots of fruit, cheeses, meats, smoked salmon, cereal, and a wide variety of breads. Pancakes and specialties were available a la carte.

The room was large, the king-size bed very comfortable, the closet space ample. Maybe the best part was that the bathroom had a double sink, so you are spared the battle of the elbows as you and your traveling companion brush your teeth.

The quibbles:

The shower in our room was accessible only by getting into the middle of an ultra wide, round tub. I had to go up one step, swing my legs wide over the tub's 6-inch-or so ledge, step into the tub, and make my way to the shower. The reward, admittedly, was a hot, strong stream of water. But still....

Wasn't thrilled that instead of a comfortable easy chair, the room sported a smallish couch reminiscent of those where the duchess would get the vapors after learning the duke had run off with the scullery maid. Good for drama, not good for reading comfortably.

Still , recommended enthusiastically.

We stayed here recently for a family celebration, having booked three one-bedroom suites, which included Red Level service. Everything about this hotel was quite excellent, so much so that it is difficult to pick out any particular feature. The room was very comfortable; breakfast in the Red Level lounge very good, and service in that lounge throughout the day was also very good.

We dined twice in El Burladero. The food was up-market tapas, more expensive than in more traditional tapas restaurants, but well worth it.

Above all, the concierge service could not have been bettered. We arranged several trips before we arrived, were able to arrange other trips at short notice, and the restaurant recommendations were always excellent. The concierge staff could not have been more helpful.

We had a very memorable few days in Seville, in no small part thanks to the Gran Melia Colon and its staff.
