“Best tapas in Spain we have tasted.”

Description: The entry of Pelayo bar indicates the exact point where the top of Giralda could fall. There are two halls, one mix of avant-garde with New York and one mix of taurine room with Blade Runner. Both are connected by a vertical garden that hide the kitchen where we make the "Tapas".

We felt the quality of the food and variety to choose from was far better at this restaurant than others we had been to. Between two we ordered 4 tapas and all were different from the standard fare, yet very tasty each. We had the false Flamenquin, roasted eggplant, sirloin in whisky and fried Camembert with Spanish marmalade. We were also tempted by the variety of cakes and desserts on display andgood value. The service was prompt and they provided menus in a variety of languages. Well worth finding this little alley just near the Cathedral.

We had an awful experience at this "restaurant'. First, the sangria was the worst we had in Andalucia. Then we had to wait for ages for our plates to arrive. The gazpacho was "ok" but far from the one you could hope for in the country of gazpacho. I had shrimps and fried seafood. The seafood was completely bland and tasteless. Surely taken from the freezer. The shrimps did not seem fresh either. I felt bad in the afternoon afterwars. The men toilets were completely dirty. A tourist spot to avoid ! There are thousands of better joints in Sevilla.

Hola Anne-Laure.

Disculpas y saludos.

My big family came here for Christmas lunch and we enjoyed the ambiance of the place and the friendly service! We came here to have typical Spanish food and tapas, and were not disappointed!

Worth a try if you want some good Spanish tapas!

The meal was good in general and the price was reasonable. The shrimp was excellent and paella was good too. But the garlic seasoned tomato salad is very disappointing. It was just a thin layer of tomato slices placed on the plate. The tomato was pale and tasteless. Did not worth 5 Euro at all.

This was a good choice right in the Jewish quarter. Nearly all tapas ordered, including octopus, oxtail croquettes and steak were great. The bacalao was disappointing though. Had an excellent bottle of muga to wash it all down. Service was good.
