We stopped here on our way to Amposta to the East and had booked it before leaving the U.S. Neither my wife nor I had been in Zaragosa before (always drove by), but this serendipitous stop showed us what a mistake that had been. This hotel is about as well-located as a hotel can be -- right on the main plaza. To the East of the hotel are the remains of the Roman city of Caesaraugustus, a port on the Ebro River. The Roman harbor/wharf area makes up one museum close to the river, and the main museum for the Roman city itself is underground, and very close to the hotel (under a glass pyramid, with a cool "elevator" that takes you down to the theatre area). There's an impressive Goya Museum in the city, and a Museum for Origami! The hotel has amazing showers -- rare in Spain -- very comfortable beds, and during our visit was very quiet. Our room overlooked the Plaza and the Cathedral (also worth a stop). Breakfast was well appointed daily, and the desk staff very helpful. When I needed to communicate with France they allowed me to use their office phone. I will stay there again.

Room Tip: Our room on the second floor faced the plaza. It was perfect. WiFi was free.

Amazing views of the basilica and a great location in Pilar Plaza. The hotel had a weird smell, very thin walls so you hear everything in the hallways and the front desk staff was not overly friendly. The room also only came with one towel (our reservation was for 2 people for 2 nights) and they seemed confused when we asked for more towels but could have been the language barrier. They did bring them to the room quickly though.

Pros:-
Great location. Can be noisy through the night! I mean noisy!
Great city to explore.
Breakfast brill & lady serving it really helpful. Watch those steps, tho.

Cons:-
Basic room is just that. No wardrobe, just a rail.
No tea/coffee facility in rooms.
No safe.
Only Spanish speaking TV channels.
Shower odd! Not over effective!
A walk away from Square can save a fortune in MDD (€12-15).
Not sure a taxi can get close?

This is our second visit to the City of Zaragoza and to this hotel. The room was clean, well illuminate, bed was really comfortable. Restroom was modern, modest and super clean.
Breakfast is served at the hotel's dinner at the basement while drinks and snacks are served the rest of the day next to the reception desk. WiFi is free of cost and parking is provided by the City of Zaragoza , with a hotel discount.
Thanks for a wonderful stay!

Lovely hotel and a fantastic location for exploring a wonderful city.I would recommend the front facing rooms of the Pilar. But have ear plugs as there are often events taking place on Thursday to Sunday

Room Tip: Get a room with a view.
