Thank you DJ MIL Palma Bay

Review of Melia Palma Bay
5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 3 Aug 2021via mobile
First of all I would like to thank DJ Ray for making us (the guests) want to dance to his amazing music. We had a wonderful time last night, Gracias. The guests services representatives were very friendly, organized and welcoming. The food was great. This was my first time visiting Hotel MIL Palma Bay and I was very impressed. It was well worth it going to this beautiful hotel all the way from Toronto, Canada. The swimming pools were great. Over all I highly recommend this hotel. Paiman

Room Tip: Please ask the reception to order a taxi. It is easier for them to give direction to the hotel....

We had a very nice stay at the hotel. It has a great location, justa few steps from the beach and a 10 minutes work to the old city in Palma. I can specially recommend the room with a terrace on The Level. From our terrace we had direct access to the pool. That was nice. Breakfast is good. The service at the hotel front desk could however be better and you need to have patient. One very important thing that was missing when you are on a vacation close to the beach is beach chairs! This hotel do not offer beach chairs.

The location is ideal in that it’s 200 metres from a lovely, relatively quiet, sandy beach with a number of restaurants alongside it. If you want to head into the centre of Palma it’s a 5 minute taxi ride.

We stayed in a corner room with a Sea/Marina view with access to what they call “The Level”. The Level is worth paying for as it’s a separate lounge & breakfast area reserved for those with access. As well as breakfast you can use this area throughout the day to grab a drink and snack or a few glasses of wine and canapés before heading out for the evening. It has its own concierge service who were very helpful when booking taxis and restaurants.

The hotel has a lovely rooftop swimming pool with a bar and great views across the Marina and sea.
My only slight criticism would be the Hotel Spa seemed a little neglected with a few things not being operational as they should be but as our visit was provided complimentary as part of the Level perks it wasn’t a big issue.

All the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful and the room service was as it should be. We had to wear masks whilst walking around the hotel due to Covid and there were sanitiser stations where needed.

Great venue and location for beach and city . Overall nice experience but hotel is stark in places and lacks warmth . Poor information on services in room and had to ask about gym, bike hire etc . Reception constantly busy , perhaps more staff required .

The hotel is around a 15 - 20 minute walk from the Cathedral and main shopping / bars / restaurants area. However, it is close to the airport, aquarium and is literally across the street from some of the best beaches in Mallorca. There are also a few beachside restaurants / bars within 5 mins walk. The rooftop pool is small, but there is a nice bar, amazing views and plenty of seating / beds for sunbathing. The rooms are a good size, well appointed with decent bathrooms and comfy beds. The only thing I missed was no coffee machine in the room.

Arrived in our room, there were black hair everywhere on the floor (we are all blond), a price tag underneath the sink from the previous person, a bugger on the pillow. I have never entered a hotel room that filthy. Of course I complained, and they “cleaned it again” - but still found 2 balls of hair. And by found they were in the middle of the hallway and my room. Again I complained, again they couldn’t do anything to help. Disgusting. Basically they just slapped a disinfected sticker and did nothing. I doubt they even disinfected the surfaces.
