This was our first visit to Palma and our enjoyment of the holiday was certainly enhanced by our choice of accommodation. Canavall is a very rare thing... a family-owned concern, where the emphasis is on providing friendly service in a quality, characterful setting. We rented Apartment 9 which is on the first floor of a building adjoining the ‘hotel’ proper - we could be as independent as we wanted, but appreciated knowing we had access to the helpful support of owner Xisco should we need it.
The apartment was stylishly furnished, exceptionally clean and very comfortable, the bed especially so. We really felt we were part of Palma Old Town, our glorious double windows opening out so we could hear the occasional chatter of people walking through the alley below - other than that it was wonderfully quiet and yet incredibly convenient for the centre. We were immensely grateful for the air conditioning - as it was surprisingly humid during our stay in September, and the well-equipped kitchen was very useful on the couple of occasions we decided to stay in. The staff kept the place spotless during our stay, which is an added bonus that you don’t expect when self catering and we had everything we needed - including an iron (and ironing board), a safe and hair dryer. The free wi-fi was excellent. If you value freedom, comfort and location, this is the place for you. PS hope you had a happy birthday Xisco and thanks for organising our taxi, it was there on the dot.

Couldn’t believe how nice the apartment was for the price when we got here. So much room, clean and bright with amenities and really close to the old town attractions. Slept well in the bed, the shower was good and it was really good
to have air con and a comfy sofa
to come back to after walking around in the sun. The guidebook was also great for café and restaurant recommendations, we weren’t disappointed. We didn’t have breakfast or really use the reception/communal area so it was great for doing our own thing and relaxing/taking things at our own pace.

We rented a duplex apartment with a small terrace and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The apartment was quietly located on the top floor of a centuries-old building and hence no lift. Being a duplex, the apartment itself also has stairs which are very steep and, whilst they were not a major issue for us, may not suit everyone. The apartment was very clean and the maids visited every day, though we did have an issue with ants in the bathroom on some days. My only criticism of the property was the absence of a safe for valuables. The information provided stated that there was a safe in the bedroom wardrobe, but this would appear only to relate to the Hotel itself as our apartment did not have a safe. I did mention this at checkout by way of feedback so hopefully this will be taken on board for others. Location-wise, the property ticks all the boxes - very central yet quietly located in a narrow little street. We did not use public transport once, we walked everywhere and it was ideal at night being able to walk back to the apartment with ease. We very much enjoyed our stay.

A centuries-old building, hidden on a quiet, quaint street has been exquisitely remodeled to retain the charm of yesterday while providing the high-end conveniences and comfort of today. The reception/breakfast area is situated in a former bakery, and provided a warm welcome when we arrived. This quiet, perhaps romantic setting was a wonderful way to begin our day, and was made even better with the fresh, local delicacies that were offered. Then, a very short walk put us in the center of the action that is Palma. This ideal location provided us the opportunity to easily come back to our room, "recharge," and then return to the Palma night life. However, our room was so delightful, we stayed in one night, enjoying some delicious wine from the owners family vineyard (Bodega Ribas) on the patio adjacent to our room. In addition to the patio, our room (#6) had an adjacent sitting room and a large contemporary bath. The beautiful, hand-made tile created a feature wall in the bath, and was just one of the many details that expressed the consideration and care that was put into the building's remodel. Our delightful experience at Canavall was further enhanced by the warm and caring staff. While Palma is a very long way from our home in San Diego, we cannot wait until our next visit to this treasure that is Canavall.
