well this a odd one this hotel all over the place and cant say if very good or average which ill try and explain.
i will point out this was rushed decision due to having just a few days from having our Greece holiday canceled so had a few days to move and find somewhere so some points i mention if we ahd researched more we would of been a bit more prepared etc. onto the review so Jet2 rate this as a 3 star. hotel promotes it self as a 4 star. id say a clean good 3 star.
Starting with the location the Hotel is located with nothing around it, this is 1 shop about 5 minutes away for water and inflatables drink etc. no other shops or bars etc. this makes it lovely and quite BUT there no late night time wandering t shops. to get to the nearest strip of shops/cafes then it a very steep walk down and narrow busy road with limited paths or a set of steps that seems to never end :) this leads you to a big row of bars, cafes and usual tourist shops there is also a beach here too. BUT i very much doubt after hours at beach that you would want to walk back up the huge steep hill taxis are around and is about 6 euros back to hotel.
next the hotel room. Exactly as you expect single beds pushed together, overhead AC, mini cooler/fridge, small desk, tv and spacious shower. room VERY clean which i think is very important. daily towel change and quick room tidy. Shower had twin head so has the larger rain shower version was lovely, large sink, big mirror and fold out mirror, built in hair dryer and socket. Room beds were comfy, wardrobe plenty of space and room was well lit and enough space of cases.
Food..... now this is where it made no sense we were not the only people to mention this. the food seemed to follow no real order. Breakfast was the best out of all the meals usual bacon, eggs, scrambled eggs, some form of potatoe item hash browns etc, daily change on sausages, hot dog version and then those red sausages(no idea what they called think there more for German tourists). then there was odd products like peas with breakfast?? other than that omelettes, nutela, cereals, jams, sweet products donuts buns etc. The biggest complaint breakfast was the juice machines orange ran out on over half the time we were there. the glasses were also very dirty. it became a game of pot luck going through 50 glasses to randomly fine 2 that didn't have finger marks, lipstick marks, food residue on. this again was something we saw many people having issues with. we resorted to using the coffee cups which seemed better.
come to evening food.... doesnt seem very well catered for younger or fussy people. Pizza was on every night, chips were only on odd nights (i find this very odd to me chips are lie the basic of any hotel) varied pasta dishes, lasagne, squid rings, chicken fingers or similar, plenty of fresh cooking prawns, pork joints etc. But a common issue they didn't seem to match food with matching food. example roast potatoes but then no gravy (gravy was never on any night) and no chicken or roast add ons. this was echoed by many a guest.
the drinks were also total mess we were all inclusive and they only supplied all your drinks in wine glasses, so soft drinks, beer, wine all served in small wine glasses so your forever up and down to the bar as NO machines facing the customer for self service. table cleaning was spot on always taking away plates and glasses.
Pool. The pool is a fresh water poo ls a little salty but lovely starts nice and shallow to much deeper. has a nice rock formation section which is shallow and has seats inside lovely to sit in with bubble and water falls behind you / no complaints pool side. loungers were plentiful (just) and comfy and had quality brollies dotted about too. nearer to the time leaving the hotel did get busier and loungers became harder to find the hotel had plenty more all stocked up out of the way due to covid etc.
pool bar..... only 1 of 3 bars open. again when we first got here it was dead but once hit 1st full week into july hotel was busier and thats when issues started. pool bar has 2 bars but only 1 side manned and 1 food bar open. This then caused HUGE ques for simple things like a drink. its very frustrating been all inclusive to que 15 mins for then to find the only drink they provide was 350ml plastic cups and limited to 3 per time. it was impossible to order food at snack bar and then get drinks to time it all together. we totally understand covid and trying to reduce contact points fingers touching drinks machines etc if you not going to have self service soft drinks and local beer etc then at least have more staff on. Again this was a common complaint. Snack bar was what you would expect fries, burgers, hot dogs, salads, pizza, nuggets etc. again only 1 person cooking and taking orders most the time.
on site entertainment/ staff-
wow the guys and girls here amazing. didn't get there names but amazing. so funny and happy. the pool aerobics with music was funny to watch and people loved getting involved. Staff tried so hard to make the best of distancing but did varied games darts, pool stuff. night time shows were all outside and chairs outside again making do with the rules they had to abide by. HOWEVER the EUROS were on and the were showing the games live in a downstairs bar we found this out by accident. huge room, lovely comfy chairs, big projector and then a huge CLOSED bar. when asked they said because of covid so if you wanted a drink you had to leave the big room, up 2 sets of stairs, to hotel lobby, outside, past pool to the same above pol bar that ques non stop to then bring 2 drinks all way back. Covid does not stop a bar been open as it no different to the main buffet bar been open or pool bar.
There is a bar on the hotel lobby area this again was shut. But again staff were all great at reception desk and elsewhere there was 1 guy on the pool bar who was so rude and so miserable it was not the greatest of experiences when served by him.
Hotel has option of safe, luggage storage, taxi service. the hotel provides a free very regular shuttle bus to the main area of Palma. this is WELL worth doing. bus is on time with air con and spacious. this take you to Palma and then if you stay on bus take you to marine land. The area of Palma is amazing. beach for either hiring loungers but with plenty of space for your own brolly and beach towel, beach was lovely. backed by loads of shops, bars and cafes. Plenty of taxis if needed too.
Final thoughts i without doubt believe the hotel was using covid as a reason to have less cost outgoing on staff, food section and without a doubt controlling the drink flow. smaller glasses bugger ques= less people going up for drinks. I totally understand having reduced bars open but having 1 out 5 open is abit silly but very cost effective for the hotel. i would come again however is mainly they resolved the all inclusive side so people who paid the extra have better access to unlimited food/drink
