Owner description: Magnificent home and gardens open to public (museum, bar and restaurant). Built for Omar Sharif by Jesus Soto and influenced by Cesar Manrique (responsible for almost every architectural tourist attraction on Lanzarote). One of Lanzarote's top 10 I reckon.

An interesting property created from caves and molten lava. Omar Sharif bought it in the 1970s and lost it the following day in a bridge game. There are many steps, some quite narrow, to climb to reach the top rooms, but well worth the effort.

What a fantastic place to visit but be prepared to climb there are a lot of stairs but some fantastic views. It is hard to believe Omar had this place for one day as he lost it gambling. The restaurant is well placed near end of visit.

A trip to this place is a must. It is the most spectacular 'house' I've ever seen. It's all cut into a mountain, so not too good if you have mobility problems. Omar Sharif bet this beautiful place on a game of bridge and lost ! All the rooms and tunnels and pools are just fascinating. There is a restaurant and coffee shop on site, so you can spend some time there. If you are going by car it's not very well signposted, there's a sign on the wall of the turn to it that just says museum.

We arrived here not knowing what to expect. However we did enjoy and what was done to this part of a mountain to achieve this house was just super but it's not as the pictures show with a lovely blue pool. It's more of a dirty pond to be honest but everything else was very interesting. I wouldn't pay for a trip though. We rented a car for 50Euro for a week with budget cars, well worth it. Do it yourself.

A must if in Lanzarote. We visited this unique place built within volcanic rock before our tour to the market. Built by Lanzarote architect Cesar Manrique. Lots of rooms to discover, could easily get lost, loved the water steps, so unusual. The views are fantastic but this place is hilly so I would not recommend if you have difficulty with mobility. Interesting that it was once Omar Sharif's home until he added it to his stakes in a game of bridge and then lost. There is a gift shop and a restaurant if you want to spend a little longer here.
