Review of Mercado Diecisiete

Mercado Diecisiete
Ranked #149 of 1,504 Restaurants in Lanzarote
Certificate of Excellence
Price range: US$18 - US$41
Cuisines: Spanish
Description: Sky, wind, ocean, fire and earth seems to be the framework of all the recipes in Mercado Diecisiete and this is the essential concept by the time you choose one dish, simply fresh and care of. This is the balance searches: that scent to Atlantic and Mediterranean, varying the menu with seasonal products and freshness will be the main ingredient. Mercado diecisiete comes to offer you the excellence in the traditional plates like paella, mellow rices, stew with fish and fields ingredients but in lanzarote: is a amaizing place according to this philosophy.

Found this restaurant on our last night, We hadn't been impressed so far with the quality of restaurants in costa tequise. We had the prawn and mushrooms 5,90 euros which were fried in a wonderful seasoning, gorgeous prawns, also shared the cold meat and cheese platter which again was delicious and lovely selection of meats, cheeses and pates, My husband had the fillet steak with foie gras, cooked to perfection medium rare, he loved the foie gras. I had the duck which was in an orange sauce which was more of a flambe rather than a heavy sticky sauce and the duck was beautifully cooked, pink in the middle, served with fresh stir fried asparagus, mushrooms and potatoes. We were stuffed but couldn't resist sharing the choc brownie with coconut ice cream. We wished we had found his restaurant in the square earlier, the staff were also attentive all young men with good banter. Our bill was 68 euros and included a 17 euro bottle of wine.We will visit again next year.

My husband and I went there last night, and were very impressed. The menu is not large, but all dishes are freshly prepared and cooked for you in the open kitchen, so you can see what is happening. The waiters were friendly, and most spoke excellent English.
We started with tapas, which did not appear to be overly large, but were very filling. For main course, my husband chose the veal chop, which he said was exceptional. I had the chicken, beautifully cooked, with real chips!
At no time were we rushed, in fact a number of other people came in after us, and were finished well before us, but this is what we enjoy, an unrushed meal.
We had a laugh and joke with the waiting staff, and at the end of the evening were given complimentary shots.
In all it was a very good evening, and I would definitely recommend the restaurant to others.

We have eaten here twice this week and food is stunning - best lamb I have ever eaten with superb bottle of Rioja - over looking the market and live music on stage gave a fantastic atmosphere and thoroughly enjoyable evening - well worth a visit for incredibly good food

We had a lovely evening meal last week in this restaurant. Situated in the buzzing central square in Costa Teguise this restaurant offers inside and outside seating. We choose to have starters, octopus and ham croquettes. Both were well presented, tasty and full of flavour. For mains we opted for fillet steak, which came with a potato dish and two great sauces and a thai fish curry. Again both were full of flavour and really enjoyed. This will be a restaurant that we will return to again and again.
