“Historic fortress ”

Castillo de San Gabriel
Ranked #11 of 38 things to do in Arrecife
Attraction details
Reviewed 19 November 2017 via mobile

This fortress stands on a small island on the coast at Arrecife reached by two footpaths. One has a bridge the other a drawbridge. You can pay to go in and have a guided tour however we didn’t as there is no English translation. Great all round views would’ve been essential for this type of building and this has just that.

The Castillo sits out on a causeway and is a nice walk in itself. To enter is 3 euros each, but unfortunately nothing is in English. There is however multi lingual commentary of the Castillo from the Land train that passes by.

It has a beautiful view worth the visit. You can go inside for 3 euros but all information is in Spanish (although the staff mentioned that prior to buying the tickets) ...it is a pity. You may go up with the same ticket.

This is a really interesting place to visit, with loads of things to see. Great views from the top of the castle. Not expensive either.
