An enjoyable stay.
All the staff in particular were polite and obliging.
We feel "at home" in the Hotel Monopol.
The hotel is in need of some reforms. It doesn´t pretend to be modern. It is part of it.s charm.
We will be returning after Christmas.

My partner arrived early June 2018 for a 10 day stay at the hotel. It’s an old hotel that has been run by the same family for about 90 years. The building itself was built back in the 1700’s. However inside was beautiful with a large foyer showing all floors of rooms and large palm trees growing up.

The room was slightly dated but the bathroom was modern. We had a lovely large patio type balcony that led out onto an area with steps down to the pool and jacuzzi.

The cleaners came round every day and our room was always sparkling clean, with the beds made and fresh towels.

The breakfasts were plentiful and always being refilled. The staff were always very friendly and helpful.

We had a lovely time and if you don’t mind slightly dated rooms would recommend the hotel. It is in the centre of the town and is very close to all the shops and restaurants, to easy access to everywhere.

Thank you for a lovely time.

It was a lucky find my friend and I went to celebrate our 60th birthdays it was only 5 days but we had a brilliant time. The people who worked in the hotel and the people who were staying were very friendly. Its a family run hotel with a good atmosphere. We had 1/2 board and the food was amazing but there are lots of restaurants just outside the door. Its very central and also close to the sea so lots of good walks close by. The swimming pool is small but adequate with lots of great sitting areas with fantastic views. The old part of Puerto is full of cobbled streets with some beautiful sights and gardens with lots of lovely piazza's and churches the interiors are amazing. There's lots of Spanish bars down the cobbled streets so you can try out all the cocktails.

I am just back from a visit to Puerto de la Cruz. We had passed the hotel on a previous visit and my husband loved the idea of the traditional style and location right in the heart of the town. The hotel could do with some moderninsation but the money that has been spent on it was in all the right places for me... bathrooms clean and white with super strong shower and brand new hairdryer, mattresses comfy and poolside area clean with new looking loungers.

I need to talk about the cleanliness... not a spec of dirt or dust to be found. Having been open for over a 100 years the property maintains a lot of it's historic features and fixtures which are well presented and add character rather than clutter.

Our room 314 was facing the front of the hotel amd the busy street below. It catches the sun all day and is great for people watching. The church bells bong every 15 minutes 7am until 11pm... its loud! My husband loved it and after a day you zone it out. We would definitely requst this room again if we went back.
Lastly the buffet breakfast, with all buffets it can get a bit hectic but it had everything you could want. Hot food hot and fresh, cold food in cooler and plenty of bread, fruit, cereal and pastries.

We had an excellent week staying at the Hotel Monopol. We had a room with a balcony overlooking the square so we could sit and watch the world go by if we did not want to go out. The hotel was clean and comfortable with a very friendly staff team.
