Stayed for 10 nights in room 23,facing onto laneway between 2 busy streets. Was very difficult to sleep as it's a very noisy area, bin truck collects bins during the night, open air concert venue erected behind hotel in plaza Europa, beds were vibrating with the base, one night until after 3am. Cafe at top of laneway making noise from just after 6am some mornings. Even had 2 protests with foghorns and whistles and police sirens for 2 mornings! All out of hotels control, price you pay for staying so central I suppose! If you need your sleep, stay a bit further out!
Hotel itself is extremely clean, room cleaned every day of our stay. Charming old hotel, basic rooms that were more than adequate. Bathroom was so tiny,if you lean over your head is either in the sink, toilet or bath haha! But very clean and shower was perfect. Disappointed that we didn't have a balcony as most people in the balcony/terrace rooms didn't actually use them.
Pool is small but clean and perfect for a quick dip. Jacuzzi and sauna lovely and again all very clean. Plenty of sunbed space.
Couldn't drink in hotel as drink selection wasn't great and they didn't have anything that I drink, and only the poolside bar was open during our stay which closed early, the indoor lounge bar was never open.(end of June, beginning of July)

The guy who greeted us on arrival and took us to our room, who always works nights,is such an asset to the hotel,so friendly and helpful.
Happy with hotel overall, apart from lack of sleep,as a good holiday base. We don't tend to hang around the hotel too much after the mornings spent at the pool as we like to explore,so it was fine for us.More
