Return visit after 3 years and still find it a wonderful hotel. Spotless room, lovely well kept grounds which are a pleasure to sit in. Lovely pool with a helpful caring attendant.
Bus to town ran perfectly on time always, though weekends included would be helpful. It is not though as described in hotel info as an area shuttle, it is strictly only to and from an edge of town shopping center car park from where there is much walking to be done. It would be helpful if it went by the bus station for trips further afield. A taxi is 5 - 7 Euros depending on traffic.

The food I felt this time was strictly 3 star and not 4 star and leaned heavily towards German tastes (which of course the majority of guests are) so logical enough but you could always construct a nice enough meal from the variety at dinner and at breakfast it was much the same. The bacon was not good quality and always cold, the boiled eggs never related to the purported minutes time and almost always had to be dumped as they were still half raw, the variety and quality of cold meats available at breakfast was simply poor but the home made bread served still hot was to die for. Staff at the grill station with the fried eggs sausages etc sometimes were hard pressed and could not keep up with demand on occasions but on the whole we got bye and still enjoyed both meals. All dining room staff were very helpful and were
doing all they could to please.

Rooms were kept spotless and the air con was very good and not at all noisy and was controlled well within the room, fridge was fine and there was tea/coffee. The beds were very good although I did require a mattress topper for my bed, though my husband thought they were fine and the pillows were very comfy. Shower over the bath was quite high to get in to but was a good shower with sufficient grips to enable you to feel safe. I did note that the was no body lotions or creams provided in the given amenities (usually present in a 4 star hotel !) and I had to purchase my own in the Spa - so take some with you .

The manager tried very has to do everything possible to help you have a great holiday and nothing was too much trouble and all of the staff who were always wonderful, polite, helpful and prepared to go beyond the call and to do anything for you seemed happy at their work were a great credit to the hotel.

Would I return again ? Maybe, just maybe

Such a great hotel, wonderful staff fabulous gardens with banana trees, very clean. Food esp for vegetarians was varied & very tasty. Hotel was in a lovely area near to the botanical gardens.I would highly recommend this hotel.

We are staying at the above hotel, as we gave up our home here in the north of the Island. We have tried other hotels in the area but they do not compare with this hotel. The service is exceptional,food , room service and the attention to detail second to none. Local people we have met say it is better than the Botanic Gardens hotel which is 5 star, this hotel deserves 5stars.

We got a room on the ground floor which was large, had air-con, a Sony TV with 6 English-speaking stations, a fridge and kettle/tea tray. The shower is over the bath which could cause difficulty for elderly guests, but apart from that, we couldn't find fault. A plate of fresh fruit and half bottle of Cava were left in the room for us.

The food is as good as you'll get in a Spanish Hotel - loads of choice and well presented. You can have either Spanish or English style bacon at breakfast - a real rarity.

The pool and gardens are kept beautiful, as are all the public areas - cleaned and polished with everything kept pristine

The entertainment is very low-key - a singer guitarist (Pedro) playing to backing tracks was very good but the lounge bar was frequently almost empty. We couldn't hear any noise at night in our room.

The staff we spoke to, were all wonderful and very well trained. Most of the guests were German, but that wasn't a problem, as they were unfailingly polite. The hotel is in a residential area with loads of free parking outside the hotel. You can pay 2 euros per day for a safe, but we didn't bother.

Outside there are bars./restaurants about 7 minutes walk away and the town is just over a mile or so.

There is free Wi-Fi all around the hotel - not the fastest, but certainly not the slowest. I can't believe the guy who gave this hotel one star on the basis of slow Wi-Fi - for goodness sake fella, get a life .

If you're looking for bingo/karaoke and loud music, don't book here, but if you want quiet quality and relaxation, this is the place.

What a fantastic hotel , absolutely beautiful , elegantly styled soft furnishings , lovely cool relaxing ambience all around the hotel . We arrived about 21:30 and we were told by a lovely lady on reception to just go to the restaurant and eat and she would sort out keys and room later .
The restaurant is amazing , outside terrace and another beautiful area as well to dine in.
The food is first class , such a wide variety and well presented ,
As in previous reviews the pool man does a fantastic job , supplying the pads for the sun beds and keeping the pool area immaculate .
Wonderful gardens to sit and relax in .
Narya , (think that was her name ) was the lady who looked after our room , did a fantastic job , as did everyone else who works in this lovely hotel .
Had a really relaxing , chilling holiday here and would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to go to Puerto de la Cruz .
