This hotel is really not bad-but very old and has an odor like that old stale smell that they try to get rid of with incense or spray. But as my husband says, it is because it is very old!

It is clean and nice but lacking in something. First of all we never saw anyone other than the front desk person. They were nice, not great English, and sent us to two restaurants that were closed our fist night. But never saw another patron. Almost eerie. There are no safes in rooms so you have to carry passports and money and jewelry with you. For the money it's fine. Not great but certainly not bad either.

Rooms are adequate, clean and not bad-but again, lacking something. Good location and we walked everywhere. Took short cab ride to and from train.

We only stayed for 1 night but had a lovely big room, very comfortable with sitting area. The hotel is spacious but a bit soulless. Breakfast was OK. Garage parking is just before you get to the turn for the hotel so you need to go round the circuit again once you have dropped off. In a quiet position but close to everything.

Booked a two night stay at this "5 Star" hotel. Unfortunately the hotel did not live up to to it's rating. In spite of being difficult to find, probably nearly impossible without sat nav, it enjoys a great location close to the cathedral, shops and restaurants. However, the rooms felt rather tired and in need of a thorough refurb with inefficient air con (not great when the temperature is hitting 40+) and very poor wifi coverage. The bar was unattended and the restaurant was closed during the whole of our stay. Breakfast was buffet self serve with no table service. A small point but wouldn't normally expect paper napkins in a five star hotel. Having stayed in a few top hotels in Spain this one was a disappointment.

Room Tip: We requested a room upgrade but were informed that no rooms in the hotel have a view.

Rooms are comfortable and a good size. Reception area impressive but the whole place seemed deserted. The bar was not open and I didn't spot anyone using the restaurant. Breakfast is standard European hotel offering but perfectly adequate. reception staff were quite formal but not unfriendly. The location is very good, walking distance to all the important buildings although be aware that every walk in Toledo involves steep hills but they are quite short.

This is a lovely hotel, situated in a very quiet street in the old part of the city - it has its own spa and feels very up market. Sadly when we visited this weekend, the bar was not open, but we very much look forward to going back soon.
