Owner description: Spanish Trails was born in 2001 as one of the first small group (max. 8 pers.) day tour companies and incoming travel agencies to experience the best of what Barcelona and all of Catalunya, Spain have to offer. Our year-round, regularly scheduled day tours are all-inclusive fully guided all day experiences, though guests are more than welcome to explore on their own. We cover the corners of Catalunya including the Costa Brava, Pyrenees, Girona, Montserrat and Penedes and Priorat wine regions, as well as half and full day Barcelona city tours and food & wine tours. We also specialize in customized family tours, private touring and small group events. We use comfortable touring vans and our staff are fun, experienced local guides with a deep love and knowledge of the regional history and culture. We have proudly served over 17,000 clients over the last 16 years. See you soon! The Spanish Trails team.

“I don't normally take tours, but this was an exception."”

Spanish Trails knows how to time the arrival to Montserrat. We were able to enjoy a leisurely walk inside the church and all along the mountain, even have free time before getting back in the van...as we were leaving, hoards of tourist buses were arriving. I can't imagine having to share the serene mountain trails with so many people. Our guide, Derek, was both knowledge and personable. And we very much enjoyed our visit to the Felix winery - a place we probably would not have found on our own. It's a fourth generation family-owned & operated winery that is a real treasure.

“Wonderful behind the scenes tour of Barcelona”
Reviewed 22 February 2012

Being our first visit to Barcelona, my husband and I were looking for a little introduction to the city. What a great way to spend the afternoon! Our guide (sorry but I've forgotten his name) was wonderful and extremely knowledgeable about the city's history and the food/wine we sampled. It truly felt like spending the day with friends. Would highly recommend this tour company!

“Great trip to Dali museum and Girona”
Reviewed 21 February 2012

We chose Spanish Trails on the basis of TA's strongly positive reviews and agreed with them completely. Our guide, Richard, was excellent and kept us all informed and amused on our daylong trip to the Dali museum and the beautiful medieval city of Girona. Our journey began at 9 a.m. and didn't end until after 7 p.m., but we were never bored. Kudos to Spanish Trails, especially for choosing a guide like Richard.

“Fabulous wine tasting tour!”
Reviewed 12 February 2012

We liked absolutely everything about Spanish Trails! Communication was smooth and easy, our tour guide was outstanding as well as the experience. We went wine tasting to a few small wineries in the Penedes Region outside Barcelona, it was the highlight of our trip!

“AMAZING Tours Outside of Barcelona”
Reviewed 12 February 2012

My boyfriend and I enjoyed two tours with Spanish Trails. We were fortunate enough to go on both of our tours with an amazing tour guide in Saskia last week. The two tours were definitely one of our favorite things to do while we were in Spain. We went on tours during a rather cold time in Barcelona. We were the only two for the Medieval Mountain Village tour on one day, and the following day, we were joined by a couple to visit the Dali Museum and Girona. Saskia did an amazing job for both tours. She is quite knowledgeable and so pleasant and fun.

I know we were fortunate to have a more private hike to the Medieval Mountain village because it was snowing that day. Saskia did a great job navigating the snow covered streets on our journey there to Rupit; but, the personalization of the tour and the historic knowledge Saskia provided were fabulous. AND, what made it even better was that she came out with the great locations to take photos of us and was patient as we stopped to take photos of the beautiful scenery. The food that we were able to enjoy in Rupit (amazing Catalan hot chocolate and fuet and cheese for a snack upon arrival and then the best Catalan meal we had for lunch) and in Girona (so many options to pick from) were the best we enjoyed during a week-long visit to Barcelona. We definitely value our visits outside of Barcelona - they were truly amazing. Saskia is a fabulous tour guide that really wants to make sure you have a great time and get the most out of the tours. I would recommend to everyone going to Barcelona that has the time to experience something outside of the city to go with Spanish Trails - from booking to the tour itself, the experience was great.

Many thanks for all Spanish Trails (specifically Tracy and Saskia) did to make our excursions two of the best things we experienced while we were in Barcelona!
