I never understood why La Rambla is so famous around the world... it’s just a big avenue with only touristic restaurants, shops ... lot of people and pick pockets and platanes.
BUT it’s becoming more interesting when you know the history of Barcelona, the history of the florist boutiques and all the details (the fountain, the Miro’s artwork on the floor, etc) scattered along the rambla.

Way too crowded at all times. Opt for many of the side streets whenever you get a chance. The variety of restaurants and cafes is much better and the quality of food and service as well. Nothing cosy or pleasing about Las Ramblas..only crowds.

A feast for the senses! From the street performers to the smells of restaurants and food vendors and the sounds of the city. Simply put "Lots of fun!". Just know going in much of the time this place is crowded and bustling.

To the uninitiated it's both easy and hard to describe... the only way is to see it and experience the whole thang... people, performers, buildings, restaurants, museums and who knows what else...if you're lucky you will get the weather we had... superb!
