WE didn't want a guided tour, as we had learned a lot the day before at La Pedrera. So we bought tickets for a lovely evening concert. It was a wonderful way to enjoy the concert hall. Evening light poured through the windows and we had a lot of time to enjoy the architecture and a beautiful concert.

Went to see a flamenco concert at this incredible venue! Much smaller and more intimate than I thought from viewing the seating chart online. Stunning venue and a really memorable evening!

The visit to this amazing concert space was enhanced by seeing a concert here. Fabulously decorated interior. Take a seat in the upper floors to get a great view of the ceiling and stained glass. 5.30pm Sunday afternoon performance was perfect.

I bought a ticket for the guided tour at the ticket office for 16 Euros after my Barcelona Card discount. Normal price is 20 Euros. To reach the starting area of the tour, you need to walk through the Cafe Foyer.

At the start of the tour, you enter a small auditorium to watch a short film about the Palau de la Musica Catalana. Depending on how many people are in the tour, the crowd may be split into two with two different guides which was the case with me. After the film, a guide led us to the ground level of the concert hall. We sat in the seats to hear the organ play a song.

Next, we were led to an outdoor balcony to observe the facade of the building. Afterwards, we went to the balcony section of the concert hall. This was the final area of the concert hall for the tour. Tour lasted about an hour.

Absolutely beautiful both inside and outside. Frustratingly hemmed in by buildings in the old town so it is difficult to appreciate it from any distance. We attended a performance of Carmen one evening which was excellent and we were able to see the inside of the building as well. You can take a tour but this seemed excessively expensive at 20 euros, the main opera house being a more reasonable 9 euros. However we greatly enjoyed the performance with tickets at 60 euros but there were cheaper ones available. Beware of getting tickets via your hotel however, as ours would have charged 20 euros per ticket on top of the price. Definitely worth a visit.
