We went on the Barcelona and Gaudi tour and it was a great new perspective on the city. It didn't just focus on Gaudi, but also on the city's history and major figures in its design. Ricard was a great presenter and we came away with a better appreciation of everything we'd seen.

My daughters (16 and 19) and I thoroughly enjoyed the Barcelona Gaudí tour Joan gave us yesterday. Listening to Joan and asking him questions about what we saw felt like spending time with a beloved teacher--he was passionate and knowledgeable and seemed to really enjoy sharing what he knows with us. He provided historical and cultural context about the buildings and sites which gave his presentation depth. And he showed us sites that we would never have found on our (e.g. hidden-away parks within the Eixample neighborhood). We highly recommend this tour.

I am a retired architect from NYC and have now completed 2 of the architectural tours and intend on walking the other 3! The tours are about more than buildings, they put the growth and and complex development of a city in the context of culture, technology and political will. Although I now live in Barcelona for half of each year, I have discovered streets and area of the city previously unknown to me. Both Jordi and Joan are patient, knowledgeable and passionate about their subject.

Although the tour was advertised as Gaudi, the real impact on us was to hear of, and experience, the rationales and planning on the historical development of Barcelona. It enabled us to enjoy the rest of our trip so much more.

I had the great pleasure of recently working with Ricardo of BAW. I am an architect and professor who was charged to lead a group of 16 graduate architectural students through Barcelona for 10 days. While of course I knew the architectural and urban basics of Barcelona, I wanted a like-minded local professional to introduce to my group the issues as only a local professional could explain. Ricardo did so in spades: his knowledge sewed together cultural history with urban and social history as well as contemporary context. The walking tour we were provided was a first-rate introduction to the city as a complex evolving organism and not merely a history lesson on the city's Greatest Hits. One note: BAW made suggestions to me initially about tours that they had developed previously but they had no hesitation to customize a tour aligned with my group's specific interests. While this tour provided academic architectural knowledge and commentary from an architect to architects, the content was always grounded in clear language and ideas and as such, would have riveted any/every dedicated traveler. I recommend BAW to anyone and will certainly seek them out in the future.
