We originally booked the ‘Barcelona and the Market’ tour, but because the tour guide was not going to be in the country the day of our walk, they asked if we would like to switch tours and we were easily able to switch to the ‘Barcelona and the Sea’ tour. We went on the tour the morning of our first full day in Barcelona and I am so, so glad we did!! It was such a lovely and informative introduction to the city. My group of six walked for about 3 hours with Ricard all around the gothic quarter, Barcelonetta, and the waterfront. Everyone enjoyed and benefited from the tour, including 2 in the group who had been to Barcelona before. Ricard was extremely knowledgeable, entertaining, and obviously very passionate about design, history, and his city. He was even able to give us a local’s recommendations for places to eat and drink in the city during our trip (and every place we went was fabulous!). As a side note, and to contrast, we went with a different tour company to Sagrada Familia a few days later, and we just kept saying “I wish Ricard were here. This would be so much better if Ricard were doing this tour.” We really missed you Ricard! I couldn’t more highly recommend Barcelona Walking Tours to anyone and everyone visiting the city. If I ever get the chance to go back, I am absolutely going on another tour. I wish this group existed in every city!!

My wife and I are visitors from Canada. We joined the walking tour on 'Barcelona & the future City'. We found that the tour was informative, material was well prepared and time control was excellent. The tour started with an introduction of the history of Barcelona city planning, its inherited issues and evolution. The information was brief but provide sufficient understanding of the city of Barcelona for foreigners. We then toured several contemporary developments around the neighbourhood of Placa de Les Glories Catalanes. Our tour guide provided interesting presentation & insight about each development. We highly recommend this tour to other architects who are coming to visit Barcelona.

If you really want to understand Gaudi's influence on the development of modernism and Barcelona's architecture, you can do no better than go on one of these walking tours. The guide, Jordi,an architect, was so well infonmed and so passionate about his work, we were all totally engaged with his talk.
He explained how important Gaudi's work was in the development of Modernism and how commited Gaudi had been to developing his own perspective. Every part of his buildings had meaniing.and he illustrated this by pointing out details on many of his buildings. Finally he gave us a short biography of his life.
This is a fabulous talk and I would recommend the organisation as they do all kinds of talks on the development of Barcelona.

We are a couple who took a tour folowing Gaudi architecture in Barclona- But got so much more! our guide was Joan, who was knowladgable and interesting, as well as kind and communicative. along the tour we've asked many questions, in varied subjects- beginning with 18'th century military history, through 20' century art and current day politics. His affection to the city and it's wonderfull architecture, got us caught up in the modernistic magic he described so well. His attention to details, and his ability to explain it to people who have never learnt anything about architecture left us feeling allot smarter then when we started (always fun :) but also we felt we spent the tour with an incredible person. It was truely a pleasure- we recommend!

I took a group on this tour and can't rate it highly enough. We all had headphones which enabled everyone to hear very clearly. Our guide was extremely knowledgable, and the tour and talk was so interesting and clear; pitched just right for folk without a lot of background knowledge.
The tour really added to our appreciation and enjoyment of the many wonderful and unique buildings this city contains.
