We selected to eat at this restaurant (& booked in advance!) after reading reviews on TripAdvisor. What a culinary experience at the end of our Camino journey! We were pleasantly surprised by the modern decor, with natural stone, timber, all in a fairly ancient building! A glass sliding/automatic door into the kitchen, gave a glimpse the chef, Lucia Freitas calmly preparing, for our gastronomic delight! And what a meal! Each of our €40 degustation menu courses were a delight to the senses, visual, aroma & taste! Half way through our meal, Lucia came out from the kitchen, and personally greeted us, to check that all was to our taste - we were absolutely blown away by the flavours & detail, & by her care for us, her guests. When we thought the meal was over, after THE best dessert ever "La Vie en Rose", Diego - our amazing and attentive waiter, presented us with an extra dessert to share - Kiwi themed - so thoughtful! - all delicately flavoured & an a taste explosion... we LOVED our meal, (maybe Lucia loved us too!)
Lucia and Diego, we cannot fault our experience... Lucia has a Michelin guide endorsement but deserves a STAR or 3***! Fabulous!

We took the EUR40 tasting menu and that is really good value. The wooden interior is carefully done with comfortable chairs and the cutlery is bespoke too. Lucia Freitas kicks things off with snacks and you immediately have your taste buts in overdrive. Personally I prefer chopsticks to pick the food, not my hands. Croquettas with chocolate is not something you'd expect as a starter and so too the corn soup. For us the ceviche of scallops with ice cream and caviar was a highlight. So too the tomatoes with figs. We knew we had chosen the right restaurant. The hake and the pig dish were technically executed to perfection but perhaps less daring than the dishes before. The 'la vie en rose' was a delightful desert and so too the biscuits. Happy to recommend the 2010 Allende Rioja. With some tweaks I'm sure Lucia and her brigade will go places. One to try and experience. Certainly one to follow.

We dined at this restaurant based on reviews on Trip Advisor. The food and presentation was excellent. All 4 of us ordered from the a la carte menu and had different dishes and all were superb. The meal started with fabulous Bread, Snacks and a Mackerel soup which were complimentary. We also enjoyed the local Galician wine. We strongly recommend A Tafona.

Absolutely amazing!! We had the tasting menu - which was unbelievable value! - and incredibly good, plus THEIR BREAD!! We normally don't eat bread, but i read it in a review and decided to try it here...best bread i ever had - you have to try it. From the tasting menue we specially loved the steak tartar, the canelloni and the desert. Produce, execution, flavours and presentation perfect. Very friendly service, with good wine recommendation.
