This hotel is much better than a few years ago when I was there! Good rooms, good wi-fi, excellent dinner, and breakfast. Rooms were fine, fairly clean, my room was just a little bit older, but no complaints! The staff was very welcoming, helpful! Buffet dinner with lots of choices just like breakfast! I will be stopping by when in Santiago - good hotel!

Stayed recently at the Gran Hotel for a business trip. Hotel very clean with efficient staff. Good breakfast and good sized room. It takes about 20 minutes walk to the Cathedral. Taxis readily available if required. Quiet part of the city, beside the University. Free wifi in reception area, free wired internet in rooms but only for devices with a LAN connection.

The exterior looks plush. The interior is excellent in the public areas, but the bedroom was quite dark, with old fashioned, dark furniture and an antiquated TV.
Also, for a 4 star hotel I was expecting/hoping for at least a pool and/or gym, but there weren't any of these. Nice, helpful staff though.

We came late, had easy walk-in-rate and looked at the rooms, got a mini-suite, which was actually great for the quote we paid ! For us it turned out very convenient, as parking there is included in the hotel owned garage and otherwise parking would have been an issue in Santiago ! Be aware there, its a tourist place, where you have to take care about your car, even its a holy city ! Breakfast is nice and enough - so all around a place you can choose

Room tip: no preference - all rooms we saw have been ok !

Situated only a 15 minute walk from the old town this hotel should have a lot going for it. Unfortunately the lack of WiFi in the rooms means it is a struggle if you are on a business trip here, ditto the fairly basic room service. Overall the standard of the room was OK and the staff were friendly.
