A visit to El Prado is a must! Make sure to get tickets in advance. We got them from trip advisor and showed the mobile phone tickets at the entrance. No need to print in paper. We ordered them a few days in advance while we were already in Madrid.

Felt obligatory to visit Prado during our Madrid stay. Glad we could tick it off the list but there were long lines and crowds. We did a guided 2 hour tour which focused on the Spanish artists. Was underwhelmed by the collection, admittedly just not that into Renaissance art.

Prado is well worth the visit but get there early so to avoid the queues to buy tickets. Easily minimum of 2 hours.

One of the best museums in Europe. Plan to wait in line to get in and if you only gave one visit, map out the must see in advance. I found after 2pm -5pm was a little quieter

Exchanged our online booking of the Paseo Del Arte ticket for the barcoded ticket at the Goya entrance. If you ask the usher at the front of the queue, they will let you into the shorter queue for windows 1 and 2 to do this. It worked brilliantly and we bypassed a gigantic queue at about 11am. The museum has an incredible collection of Flemish and Spanish masters and had an impressive amount of space. The lighting could be optimised to allow for better reading of the info placards.
