We went here on a recommendation from my dad who used to frequent this place 30 years ago. He said they were very good then and hadn't been back for years. I decided to give it a go when I was in the area. Cannot fault it. We ordered a "parrillada", which came with a bottle of white wine, a jug of water and some bread (oh! and we were given a piece of tuna empanada as an appetiser, which was amazing). Although on entering, you might not think much of it, don't be put off by its looks. It appears to have been untouched for the past decade. Please look past it and order some food. We thoroughly enjoyed it and will be going back next time we are in Madrid.

In a traditional Spanish atmosphere, true and fresh food, try the caldo gallego, galician octopus or the mariscada with the best wines, affordable lunch menu every day, good to meet locals and have great tapas enjoy a beer or any liquor, ask for Antonio or Tino and have a great Spanish culinary experience

The service was slow and the waiters were rude and nervous even though the place wasn't very busy. Food is of average quality for the price. Rating is low because the staff was really unprofessional. Glasses were poorly washed (lipstick stains). Definitelly don't recommend the place. We waited 20 min for someone to bring us the bill.

We happened to order the most expensive dish on the menu which was the Octopus. The Octopus was 17 euros and was the worst octopus I have ever experienced. Firstly, the Octopus was cold and secondly the texture was mushy on the exterior and not chewy on the interior like Octopus is supposed to be. And lastly, there was absolutely no flavor to the dish.

We also ordered the green peppers which was average but not worth the 9 euros we paid for the dish. At most it was worth about 2 to 3 euros. In the end we could not finish either dish because it simply was not edible.

In the end we also paid 3 euros extra to a service that was not accommodating to our needs. Felt he was just trying to up sale us on drinks and alcohol.

In the end as we were paying, our same dish was ordered by someone else and we noticed the dish was piping hot. We pulled out our google translate on our phone and showed him that our dish was completely cold. The waiter rudely shrugged his shoulders and walked off asking us to sign the credit card slip.

As a tourist this was our last meal in Madrid and we were extremely sad that we chose this spot. Please avoid this and choose a different restaurant.
