After a fantastic seafood meal at Ristorante Bagni Sant'Anna we were referred by Anna to eat at her father's Ristorante Pizzeria Tasso.
It was a superior meal and a great recommendation for a seafood meal in Sorrento. Franco did a wonderful job of hosting us and ensuring that our meal choices were superb. With a quiet table outside under the portico (umbrella area), this is a truly considerate restaurant that served our shared appetizer on two separate plates. The menu even advises "Please feel free to ask us for any favorite dish not on the menu..." (see the image under Special Dishes.")
Franco and the English speaking staff were helpful with meal selection choices, recommendations and very efficient throughout our dining experience at Ristorante Pizzeria Tasso. We were never rushed, the meal timing was good and if you can wait the seven minutes required - have the special chocolate dessert (my images do not do it justice)!
Starting with the fresh bread, olive oil and 12 yr old aceto balsamico we knew this meal would be especially nice. Our appetizer was one of the finest prepared we have had in Italia, lightly roasted fresh wild octopus on thinly sliced potatoes with crisp fennel. The meat was SO tender that my wife called it seriously awesome (unique praise). Franco was tight lipped about how Chef made the octopus so tender - something about very fresh and wild!
The spaghetti with seafood was an outstanding pasta choice and the sea bass lightly breaded and vegetables made for an excellent main course. The fresh fish was the right choice.
Probably the best compliment of the meal for Ristorante Pizzeria Tasso was from my wife, who said "I would have this meal again but NOT share the appetizer!" Thank you Franco and staff.
