Our trip to Rome was absolutely AMAZING. Our b&b couldn’t have been better and our hosts were sooooo great ! They were helpful when we got lost in Rome (via WhatsApp), they checked in with us in the mornings (they stayed in the kitchen to cook breakfast and clean our rooms). The neighbourhood felt very safe and it was walking distance to Vatican City. There were 2 metro stations very close by which took us to all of the attractions we wanted to visit. Any time we needed assistant with getting to places, our hosts kindly assisted us on WhatsApp to tell us how to get where and recommended good places to eat. The rooms were very very clean and we came back to the hotel in the evening with the rooms cleaned and bed turned over. Free tea and coffee was available if we didn’t need breakfast.
As two Muslim girls travelling for the first time on our own, we couldn’t have felt safer and more at ease. The building can be scary, but it was all down to nerves. One thing to consider is your room is in a sort of flat share, which we liked, it made us feel safer and more comfortable that there were other people also staying around us. But we didn’t know this before we came, so it’s something to be aware of.
