We stayed at the sister hotel during our previous stay (2012) but had no hesitation is staying here this time. Hotel room was basic, but had everything we needed and the towels etc was replaced every day. Rooftop terrace was lovely, the views are fantastic! Very close to The Vatican, easy walking distance. We didn't eat here during the evening but the breakfasts were lovely, fresh and good selection, more than I expected. Staff were descret but very friendly. Thank you for a fantastic stay!!

Room Tip: We were happy on the third floor, typical city noise but other than that it was fab.

Ok, so I’ll get the good part out of the way as it is a very good point: Location is amazing! It is a 5 minute walk from St Peter’s Square so if you’re planning to go there or access the tour bus routes this is fantastic, but...

Oh my god this place sucks! If you are hoping to spend more than 5 minutes in the hotel then you are out of luck. It is so dated! And not 90’s dated, think 60’s dated. Our room was (is, I’m writing this from my room on my own 3G because the internet is terrible, more on that later) tiny, looked horrible, internet connection was terrible and there were only 2 plugs available in the room on the opposite side from the bed.

Entering the hotel it seems mildly modern, clean frontage and main desk, but suspicions were raised when we used the elevator for the first time, an experience that would rival some rollercoasters at making you fear for your life (after waiting 10 minutes for it to finish frightening other guests and finally arrive). Then you are met by the front door of your room, a tiled (yes, tiled!) door stolen from a 70's cruise ship which leads you to your cabin.

Yes, a cabin. A tiny, 10ft by 10ft block of carpeted walls and just utter horribleness. I'll refrain from describing the room in graphic detail but give a list of amenities instead that I received for over €150 a night:

1 x Bed - Not too hard
1 x Smart TV - 900 channels of nothingness and not connected to the internet, if it was really smart it would have run away by now
1 x Bath - Perfect size for 0.6 humans
1 x Shower head - At perfect nipple level
1 x Safe - Pointless since they take your passport at check in anyway
1 x Window - Smarter than the tv, tricks you into thinking that it is closed but never is
1 x Ethernet connection - Not actually connected to the internet
8 x light switches - ??
2 x WiFi connections - Let me explain:

When you arrive you have the option of connecting to the Hotel free WiFi, allowing you to browse the internet at lightening speeds, if lightening was an overweight dog running to the vet. If you could maintain a connection for longer than 5 minutes then you are considered a god!

The second WiFi connection is the TV. If you connect to the TV's WiFi then you can stream content to it, great if you have a backlog of Netflix shows or something that you want to keep up to date with. But the small, teeny tiny problem is that the TV isn't actually connected to the internet. So when you connect to it's WiFi, you can't stream anything. #Amazing #WeLiveInTheFuture

2 big features of the hotel that they like to push are the restaurant and the roof top bar. The restaurant I can't really comment on as we went for dinner there at 8:30pm on a Friday night and were turned away as they seemed to be closing. I'm not really sure as they never actually gave me a reason. The rooftop bar has a great view owing to it's amazing location but it is horrendously overpriced and understaffed.

Overall with this four star hotel you are getting the equivalent of sleeping in a tent on Via Della Concillazione - Great location but a terrible experience.

I can't vouch for the quality of the hotel because we didn't stay there, but if you're looking for a great bar with outstanding views across the city, look no further than here. The staff were lovely, cocktails were great and for a sun-down aperitif, we could not have selected a better place.

Very traditional Hotel only minutes away from the Vatican we asked for a room with a view and a view we got the rooftop bar was fantastic with 360% views across Rome we travel the last week of sept the weather is a little cooler but still very hot the breakfast was enjoyable with lots to chose from we ate out were there are lots of nice places to eat around the area in walking distance one down side was a place right next door were the food was horrible and the service was RUBBISH. Apart from that a very enjoyable stay and we will stay there again when we are in Rome

Room Tip: Take advantage of Free shuttle bus to airport

Hotel is very close to the Vatican with a spectacular roof top bar with great views of the vatican. Rooms are average and could do with a bit of updating! But the room was adequate for just sleeping! There are a lot of good restaurants close by walking distance. Very caring staff, great for a 3 night stay! Breakfast was good with a lovely continental style again the view from the restaurant overlooks the City. One thing to be mindful of the restaurant in the evening is closed Mondays! Overall a pleasant stay.
