Lancelot was a terrific, small and intimate "hotel". Warm and welcoming; lovely yet simple. We had a three week holiday in Rome, Italy and Venice. Lancelot was our choice for when we arrived, again when our daughter met us in Rome for a visit and again when we were getting ready to fly home. The staff is wonderful, especially Lorena and Francesca. They were always happy to do anything they could to make our stay more comfortable. All were very friendly and helpful.
The location could not have been better. In a quiet neighborhood and it is no exaggeration that the colosseum is only a 5 minute walk. We had the suite on the 6th floor and we could see the colosseum from our balcony. Several restaurants are within a few block area. This was very convenient when we wanted to eat close to our hotel after a long day of exploring. We had Room 60 - a comfortable suite with a sitting room and small garden balcony. We wished we had some sort of dresser to put our clothes - the only space to share was a small armoire. Breakfast buffet was simple (cereal, fruits, cakes, rolls and jams, sliced meat, tomatoes, yogurt) We did miss our American omelets and scrambled eggs and oatmeal. The dining room was very nice.
