There was a massive number of hotels in Rome to choose from and we got lucky on our first trip to Rome. We had an excellent room with a balcony overlooking the Christmas-lit street. It was clean, comfortable, and reasonably priced. The staff was helpful and friendly. Breakfast was excellent. We walked to the Roman Forum, the Coloseum, Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon, and other highlights. We were there for three nights.

I think that I am repeating everything that everyone else is saying but the location of this hotel can not be beaten. The Trevi fountain is a 3 min walk. The pantheon is a 5 min walk. The furthest place was the Vatican and that was a 20 min leisurely walk. We were here for five days and never used any form of transport. If I had to be negative I'd say that our room was a bit small and could have done with tea making facilities in our room.
The staff were polite and friendly.

Finally for those who can't live without the Internet they have free 24 hour wifi. And for those how do not want to bring computers etc they have a computer with printer in a reception area on floor one.

Thank you all at the hotel Regno

First time i had been to Rome. Location of this hotel is excellant. Very clean, big rooms, ok breakfast very continental and no tea or coffee facilities in bedroom. My partner had been to Rome before and said that the location of this hotel is the best. Pleasant and helpful staff. We had a room at the front of this hotel, if you are a light sleeper like me i found it a bit noisy with the electric buses that seem to run all night.

Room Tip: Choose a room a the back if you are a light sleeper.

We booked through BA and pre paid so rate was great. Walk to every attraction, seriously. The location cannot be touched. Very clean, nice breakfast, OK bed, small bath (it's Roma!), tiny lobby. We had a front room with tiny veranda for people watching. This place is not a four star but just great. This is a perfectly fine place and we'll stay here again.

Although there is nothing fancy about this small hotel, my husband and I would like to agree with everyone who has commented on its perfect location - a few minutes to the Pantheon in one direction, and the same to the Trevi Fountain on the other. As we prefer not to use public transport on city break holidays, we found we were able to walk to all of the main attractions without too much effort.
Our room, 440, was quite basic, but the bed was very comfortable and clean, and the towels were changed every day. Although they provide you with the usual soap, shower gel etc, I'm glad I had taken small bottles of my favourite shampoo and conditioner, as they don't give you proper shampoo - if you're a guy, this probably won't bother you, but you know what we females are like about our hair!! Also, there isn't an iron and ironing board in your room, tho you can get them to launder your clothes.
Our only grouse was that there wasn't a nice bar to sit in in the evening to have a wee night-cap and plan the next day's sightseeing, nor were there tea or coffee-making facilities in the room.
All in all, a small, well located hotel, with very helpful staff.
