The perfect venue for a romantic weekend in Rome. Close to the Spanish steps and ideal for exploring on foot. Hotel is beautiful and our room was extremely comfortable. Staff friendly and very helpful. All in a wonderful experience.

Its great location makes this hotel worth a stay: right off the Via Condotti and 3 minutes from the Spanish Steps. The hotel has some great services such as the free “Handy Phones” that allow you to call North America direct for free and their not completely successful map apps to guide you around the city. Personally, I had better luck finding my way with a paper map,but the idea was nice. Serves a good breakfast. The rooms are small, but elegant and service is quite good. Good air conditioning and nice comfy beds. If possible, try to get a room on the uppermost floor, as all the foot traffic makes the rooms noisy and buskers playing the same music over and over again can be very annoying. Look for a room with a terrace on the entrance side. These have nice views of the Villa Medici.

We have just returned from our first trip to Rome. I had specifically chosen Hotel d'Inghilterra for it's central location and was not disappointed; we were able to get about very easily and did as much as we wanted in this fabulous city. If shopping is what you want, you will not be displeased as you are surrounded by designer shops everywhere.
Booking in advance to popular attractions is recommended, even if you arrive on the first Sunday of May, as we did, and was advised by a concierge, that most attractions were free, but our experience is that these can be booked 3months in advance and they limit the numbers for safety reasons. Our concierge should have known this!
Despite this one error, we nevertheless found all staff to be courteous and respectful, making our stay very pleasant. Our reward was a voucher for free drinks and complementary late check out.
We were booked in a superior room on the 5th floor, and found rooms to be on the small size and needing an update, especially the lighting, we actually couldn't see the instructions for the safe! Our room was clean and we loved our balcony, particularly when we could hear the lovely tones of a saxophonist drifting up on an early Sunday evening.
This is a nice hotel with old fashioned charms, in a great location, if needing some much-needed bedroom updates.

Dear Mrs. Grace,
hank you for taking the time to review our Hotel d’Inghilterra Starhotels Collezione.
While we are happy that you enjoyed our central location we are a bit upset to hear about the misunderstanding with our concierge. I do understand from you that you were correctly informed by our concierge that on the first Sunday of the month the entrance to the main attractions in the city is free and therefor we do not have the possibility of booking skip the line entrances. We are known and respected for our high level of concierge service so I want to personally apologize for this misunderstanding.
We work hard to make our guests' experience at Hotel d’Inghilterra Starhotels Collezione a memorable one so we hope that we will have the change to have you back with us again in the near future. I remain at your complete disposal to discuss any of your concerns if you wish to contact me directly.
Best Regards,
Massimo Colli

Hotel d'Inghilterra used to be the Palace where the guests of one of the Roman Princely families where hosted. It is very close to the Via Condotti and the Piazza di Spagna where all the best attractions and shopping area of Rome are.
