Took a guided tour, in the rain. There were ruins EVERYWHERE and would have loved to roam around and gaze for hours taking it all in. But, we did a quick overview after all the waiting in line at the colosseum. But the cold could not take away the historic splendor this site holds. Will definately return and explore more if able to in the future.

Great price (€12 includes colloseum too). Great for a leisurely walk around ruins and architecture. Highly recommend

Maybe it is because I was just out of the colosseum when I entered the forum but I've been kind of disappointed by this site. There are different ruins you can see with a short text of what they were, but so little remains that it is very hard get a sense of how it was. The palatino hill on that regard was much better.

Buy a combined ticket with the Coliseum from the Roman forum office. Only 14E each. Didn’t have to queue very long but it was a showery day so that might be why. The Roman forum is so steeped in history with so much to see round every corner. Walk up the Pallantine hill. The views from the top are very impressive.

The mere size of the roman forum blew us away. The fact that there are so many buildings that were built on top of each other is amazing.
