This is a very nice budget hotel in a great location near the termini train station and the colosseum Very quiet. Excellent breakfast. The staff were very helpful and arranged for me to be picked up at the airport and brought to the hotel for $50. It was nice to have a driver waiting with my name on a card as my flight got in fairly late. But one can take a train from termini to the airport much more cheaply. There are excellent food markets nearby at the train station and lots of inexpensive but pleasant restaurants nearby. While this is not a luxury hotel it is convenient clean and quiet and had one of the best breakfasts I had in italy. It was great that there were several English language tv channels and good fast 'free' wifi. The staff helped me plan out several walking routes and pointed out bus lines where needed.

Dear Guest,

Thankyou for your beautiful comment!

We're glad you appreciated the Hotel, the Staff and our breakfast!

As you told we have a great location 5 minutes walking from Termini Station and 10 minutes walking from the Colosseum, just in front of Santa Maria Maggiore Church!

We really hope to host you again in the future!

Regards

Nice place in great position . Beautifully clean and functional . Slight indifference to guests waiting at the reception when on the phone , put down to Latin temperament - as with the mad drivers/motorcyclists ( beware ) .
The lift is as slow as a snail and it's faster and healthier to take the interesting stairs .
Our room ( 210 ) was compact ( don't forget to ask for the kettle ) , nice selection in the mini-bar ( we didn't partake ) which was handy and large enough for us to use for some picnic food .The bathroom ( shower-room ) is a bit of a let down mainly because the toilet is very awkward to use because of its proximity to the shower door .
Breakfast is comprehensive , although the scrambled egg is interesting - cold and in big lumps . The coffee machine is great dispensing nice coffee and chocolate .
Not sure which nation eats cake for breakfast ?
The staff smile and are friendly and helpful if they can be .
Check out the booking sites ( we got a very good deal ) prices can alter quite considerably in the run up to your stay .
An enjoyable stay - recommended

Room Tip: Quite fun overlooking the road

Stayed for a week in Mach 2015

The hotel is small, but nice and tidy. We had a 10 sq.m room, which was very small and basic, with a window view to nowhere, but comparing to other hotels with similar location (in the center of overpriced Rome), the price was good.
The service was very friendly and helpful, both the manager on the desk and the kitchen staff. The breakfast was decent. The room, the sheets, the towels were clean. Free Wi-Fi available in the room.
Since the building is old, located in the center of Rome, and the rooms are small, I think, there are all different sorts of noises that may wake you up in the morning or interfere with your siesta, no matter where exactly your room is located. Nevertheless, It is quiet at night.

The location is great, 5-10 minutes walking distance from Roma Termini (makes it easy to get to/from the airport). About 15-20 minutes to Colosseo and other city attractions. If you plan to mostly explore the city and stay in the hotel only to sleep and breaksfast, this hotel suits you well. There are many cheap and good restaurants in the area, the food is great (although you do not feel really safe when walking late in the evening around Termini or the nearby parks...).

Room Tip: Seems that almost all rooms have different kinds of noises that may wake you up

Dear Guest,

Thanks for the nice words dedicated to our hotel!

We're glad you had a nice stay in our Economy Room (10 sq.m.)

The Economy rooms are the most convenient ones and allow you to stay at our hotel and enjoy our services at a very advantageous price. The Economy bedrooms offer the same services as standard bedrooms but are smaller.

We have only 3 Economy rooms in the Hotel and can be booked only through our official website: www.hotelamalfiroma.it

Please apologise us for the inconvenience of noises. As you wrote the hotel was quite at night but during the week you have been with us we did some renovations at the 4th floor and that probably have disturbed you!

We will have a great pleasure to see you again soon!

Regards

We selected this hotel because of the low price, proximity to Termini station, and positive trip advisor reviews.

The hotel is pretty basic, but clean and comfortable. Our room was right next to the very noisy lift, and we were woken up by staff using the lift both mornings. Otherwise, we had a pleasant stay.

The location is great, particularly if you're getting the train to or from the airport. It's within walking distance of the Colosseum and Forum, and a short walk from the metro station, where you can catch a direct train to Vatican City.

Amalfi Hotel is a family owned Hotel in the heart of Rome just a few steps from the iconic Basilica Santa Maria Maggiore. The boss, Cosimo and his son Francisco together with their team of workers are ever helpful in helping me out with my request for directions and recommendations for restaurants. A bottle of wine was also given to my wife and I as we were on our honeymoon which was a lovely gesture. Never before have I ever stayed in such a well run hotel which made my stay a memorable one. Thank you and we will definitely return to Amalfi again when we have the opportunity to return to Rome again.
