I gave the Astoria Garden a 4 based on its convenient proximity to Termini station and because the main attractions of Rome are all within a 1-1.5 mile walk or quick metro ride.
We stayed here for 4 nights. Service has been impeccable on our stay. We arrived in Rome at 10AM and even though check-in is after 2, they had a room available and gave it to us, which many other higher level hotels wouldn’t do. Every time we requested assistance—from asking for directions, to needing to call a tour company to confirm a reservation, to requesting coffee cups in our room—the staff complied with a smile and helped to translate—and never seemed too judgmental when we struggled with our Italian. :)
The room was small. You probably wouldn’t be bothered by the size normally, but once we had two people, two backpacks, and two carry-on size suitcases (so not a ton of luggage, relatively speaking), we felt a little cramped. We did make use of storage in and above the closet and used the small desk in the corner as an improvised dresser. Breakfast was provided, and served by 7AM, which allowed us to get an earlier start to the attractions. Overall, we didn’t spend a lot of time in the room anyway. For the price, location, and excellent service, I would recommend the Astoria Garden for short trips to Rome.

I and my two teenage daughters stayed here in late December 2017 do to its convenience to Termini. We found the hotel room clean and comfortable and were particularly impressed with the heated bathroom and quality of towels and linens. The hotel has a lovely sitting room, bar area, and outdoor seating area. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the buffet breakfast was fresh and generous.

Great hotel near train station and metro station. Staff is very helpful, rooms are clean and quaint. Complimentary breakfast is fantastic with a good selection of coffees, juice, cereal, pastries, eggs, yogurts and meats and cheeses. There’s a 4 euro per person, per night city tax that you’ll be asked to pay.

Starting from the beginning, friendly welcome in clean and bright lobby. Correspondences before arrival were answered clearly and efficiently .
Next the room it was a single and was small,,, I mean really small , however after getting over the initial "shock" it was lovely. The high ceiling and the balcony took away from the feeling of small. It was Quiet and the bathroom was also small but very clean and bright. Water pressure good and hot water ,,,VERY hot . Wifi great. Breakfast light and good were hot options and only thing would like to add some vegetables tomato peppers would have been nice . Staff were excellent front desk staff very helpful and friendly with good recommendations .
Close to train station and transport , Walking distances are OK and has advantage of not being in the overly "tourist" center of city. Supermarket close buy . All in all would definitely recommend and would stay there again if visiting Rome

We have had a wonderful 4 nights at The Astoria. The staff were friendly and very accomodating when we needed to add an extra person at the last minute. The hotel has a lovely garden area that is perfect for relaxing with a Prosecco after a long day of sightseeing.
The location is handy to the main train station and there is a supermarket and laundromat very close by. The is also a good selection of reasonably priced restaurants in the immediate area.
We will definately stay again when we return to Rome
