We stayed here for four nights at the beginning of August 2017 and had a great experience. A colleague recommended WRH and it did not disappoint. We stayed in a four person room with one queen size bed and two full beds. The room was clean when we walked in and cleaned every day. But more importantly, the air conditioning was cold! The hotel is in a great location and only a block away from taxis and the tram.

We also really enjoyed the breakfast at the cafe across the street. And there are some really great restaurants and bars in Trastevere.

Luigi and his staff really took care of us and provided excellent customer service. They gave us information on tours (we used ICON Tours for a tour of the Vatican, which was excellent), provided us with a list of restaurants they recommend, and provided us with information on airport transfer services.

They even arranged for us to store our bags on our last day until it was time to go to the airport.

This place is an ideal location to stay in Rome, right in the middle of the vibrant and walkable Trastevere neighborhood and a stone's throw away from the 8 Tram which takes you right into the historic city center (less than 10 minutes away). The building is historic, so space is tight, but everything is well designed to take advantage of the space, with a modern and minimalist theme and all the amenities you could need, including laptops, hair dryers, and air conditioning in the rooms. They give you a voucher for a free traditional Italian breakfast at a coffee bar across the street (cappuccino, orange juice, and a cornetto). There is a simply equipped kitchen in the common area and grocery stores nearby, but Trastevere is also full of marvelous restaurants where you can try quintessentially Roman food like spaghetti carbonara or cacio e pepe. The rooms and common areas are absolutely spotless, not a speck of dust to be found. Sound does travel among the rooms, so if you're a very light sleeper do bring earplugs in case of noisy neighbors. The staff is very friendly and ready to go above and beyond to help you with anything you might need. I also got to meet Mila, a gentle and sweet old yellow dog who sometimes visits the hostel with her human and made the place feel like home. Overall I had an excellent experience and I would highly recommend WRH Trastevere when visiting Rome.

Note: the building is NOT wheelchair accessible, to get to the rooms you must climb one flight of stairs. This is fairly standard for historic buildings in Italy.

Hotel is in an excellent location, convenient to walk to all tourist spots and near an area full of small trendy restaurants. Intially it was not what we expected, our room was very basic, and the kitchen was a shared facility... breakfast was in a cafe accross the road.. so it wasn't like the hotel we thought we had booked . However once we got used to it , it was great. The owner and staff were really friendly and helpful. We made friends with people at the cafe in the morning who gave us excellent advise on where to go.you could have as much coffee as you wanted and really we were hardly in the room as near by restaurants and cafes were great. It was ideal for a 4 day city break. Definately transfer to hotel from airport by car arranged by hotel as it is difficult to find the first time

Room Tip: We had very small room with thin wall but there are better rooms

We stayed in Rome for 4 nights and WHR was great. We arrived late so picked up the keys and let ourselves in but this was easy enough. WHR is based on the first floor just round the corner from Trastevere main road but it wasn't noisy. I highly recommend Trastevere in general- Whilst the majority of touristy things we wanted to do were across the river, Trastevere is a great place for food and bars in the evening with a bohemian feel and felt very safe. This is all a 3 minute walk away. The owners were very friendly and helpful, with good English. They were there each morning and happy to give you maps and recommendations. Breakfast was in the café across the road and you got a hot drink, orange juice and choice of croissant. We actually preferred going to this little, lively café each morning than having breakfast in the apartment. I don't really have anything bad to say about the place, we had an en-suite bathroom, it was clean, the Wi-Fi was good and it was very good value.

I stayed here for 5 nights and it was the perfect location for my trip to walk all over Rome and then be near wonderful trattorias and nightlife. The hosts are excellent and the rooms are clean and everything you need. It can be noisy depending on the other guests, but I was very pleased with my stay. I highly recommend.
