We have chosen this apartment based on its price and its location.
All in all, the choice was really good. As for a very reasonable price we got an apartment just near Colosseum (5 min by feet), Sanra Maria Maggiore (3 minutes by feet), Forum Romana (5 min by feet), the main shopping street of Rome (via Corso) is also close, it takes about 15 minutes to get there.
Speaking about transportation facilities, the apartment is also very good located. Termini (the train station) is near (about 15 min by feet) and the metro station is just round the corner.
There are several supermarkets nearby (Conad, Coop and Simply). The last one works from 7 to 24, which is very comfortable for a traveller.
Lombardo is a b&b. If you know what is b&b in the UK with its english breakfast, you will be disappointed about the breakfast. But Italy has another breakfast traditions, so breakfast is a cup of coffee and a croissant of your choice in a caffee near the apartment. On weekends you have to walka little bit longer for yor breakfast, as the nearest cafe is closed in the morning.
The apartment consists of two separate rooms, one common kitchen/living room and two bathrooms. For using the kitchen you should pay 10€/day, we did not use it as it is always easy to find something to eat in Rome. One of the room is directly connected with its bathroom, the second one is connected via a kitchen space but it does not disturb.
The living space is rather big, the furniture is simple but cozy.
There are few negative points though:
1. it is really cold in italian houses in winter (though there is an air conditioner in the room and you can make your room warm, it is still cold in a living room and in a bathroom.
2. towels were not changed in 7 days we stayed there (though we were promised).
I recommend this apartment if you are going to wander around Rome all day and return here just for sleeping
This apartment is just wonderful on so many different levels. First, it's nice and clean, and very spacious for an inner-city condo. The air conditioners work extremely well, and the multiple bathrooms made travelling with our kids much easier.
Once outside, you are a short walk away from the Colosseum and other attractions. The metro line is really close as well, making the rest of Rome easily accessible. In all, the location of this apartment is about perfect (especially for the price!)
Our host was gracious and polite, and spent about 20 minutes with us laying out a fantastic walking-route of Rome with all the known (and some not-so-widely known) attractions. We definitely recommend staying here if you have the opportunity!
