Qe went twice. Once in the evening- and while the views were superlative at sunset, there was a long wait (they don't take bookings) and played pop instead of opera (as suggested by the title). The fare is bruschetta/ salami based, not cooked food/ a full dinner menu. On balance worth it for the view (which you can also get for free from the walk up/ the adjoining public space, but the fare was uninspiring.

On the second occasion, e participated in a (morning) class and learnt to make pesto. This was truly amazing- vert well and patiently taught with amazing results topped with wine and salami at an extremely attractive price. Great experience.

Skip the evenings and sign up for the class if you are pressed for time.

Went to #1 at the point of the trip in Manarola and felt like #1.

At first it was a bit weird to wait in line just to get to sit at the table but hey, if you want to go to #1 you'd better do one of two things: make a reservation (did not attempt) or wait in line like any other.

Surprisingly, time went by pretty fast as we waited in a pretty picturesque place.

The food we had was nothing sophisticated, we had 2 sorts of bruschetta.

The sangria we had (I know, it is not Italian specific) surprised me from a presentation perspective. Usually, sangria is served from a bottle-like (or bowl) filled with various fruit. Well, in this awesome place, the glasses had their own set of fruit and the sangria recipient was a plain (but very classy) bottle.

And, yes, the view. Worth the wait.
Do not miss this if you plan to visit Cinque terre and Manarola, though.

After a walk up the bay we only stopped in for a quick drink to refresh. Stunning views, friendly staff and free nibbles all very welcome added extras. Wish we had much more time to enjoy as the food looked great.

My parter and I went here for lunch, got the buchetta and two bagel type sandwiches. I also got a strawberry daiquiri. We didn't realise you keep the receipts that they give you, so when we went to pay, we didn't have the receipts and they got so annoyed towards us, we told them what we ordered and they didn't want to listen. When we paid then, our bill was 29.50. My partner handed the woman a 50 and she threw just the 20 back at him. Very rude servers. The view it's nice yes, but don't expect anything good that's not the view.

We arrived at this cliff top restaurant about 5 in the afternoon, and at that point we were seated right away. But within 30 minutes there was a line of people waiting for a table.

We had a great meal, a bottle of local wine, a coffee, and then left the restaurant behind to sit on the little trail that leads up to it. I set up my tripod and camera and we just waiting for the sunset. At about 8pm the line for people waiting for tables was perhaps 45 minutes long. So be warned. The views from this location, at sunset, produces a heavy customer load, and you may see the sunset from standing in a hot line, rather than from a table, with an umbrella, with a glass of wine.
