We stayed for two nights following a two week trip to Monterosso - we decided on this place as it had a pool and very near to the station. Extremely quiet environment with many grandparents and grandchildren enjoying the pool. Pool well maintained and lifeguard always present during pool hours. Through Airbnb we stayed in a studio flat with pull out sofa bed (very creaky and a bit lumpy) however we could cook and catch up on Olympic Games. Bathroom was extremely clean. All cleaning equipment was provided - washing up liquid, surface spray, sponges - which made out stay all the more convenient. There is a beautiful park next to the residence with art gallery (pay on entry) and botanical gardens. Also a plaza with coffee shops, green grocers and supermarket if you walk up directly from train station.

We stayed for two weeks in the Residence. I would agree with other reviewers, that it is not a "luxury" place, despite of some photos from the hotel's website.
Pluses:
- perfect location. It is very close to a railway station, to the park (with a good children playground) and to Promenade near the sea. Shoping is also very close to the hotel.
- the hotel has very nice territory with garden and pool and even garage.
- the kitchen has everithing you need for cooking.
- We had a sea view in our room (paid additionally for this),
- the bed in our sleeping room was ok.
Minuses:
- Rooms look quite old. We had very bad sofa in a living room.
- Cleaning is not done perfectly well,
- It can be remarkably cold in the room even in june.
- You can here lot of noise (everything!) from other rooms and from the hall.
- For us, I think, it was a little overpriced stay.
Personally, I do not think, that would stay there again.

Room Tip: A 3-room appartment looked better, than our 2-rooms, and it had 2 WC.

THe hotel looks lovely. The room was of a high standard roomy clean and bed very comfortable. Service lacks in the bar and although reception staff are helpful it remains a cold place. We sat in the bar on two occasions before going to dinner and had to approach to order drinks even though there were few people in the bar. MUSIC is never played and the potential this hotel has is enormous. Massive missed opportunities in terms of bar meals hot and cold and ambience.

I stayed here for an extended period of time. I advise the following: if you're looking for a place where you can cook your own meals, then this is for you. If, however, you are looking for luxury, move on. You can hear EVERYTHING that goes on in adjacent rooms, the linens/furniture are in desperate need of upgrading, and housekeeping only comes once a week. On the bright side the location next to the train station cannot be beat if you dont want to brave driving in/around Genova. Just OKay- no bargain.
