The pros:
Superb location for people arriving at Milano Centrale train station
Great, comfortable bed with nice linen
Effective in-room air conditioning
Hot, powerful shower
Very clean
Modern, trendy design
The cons:
Undertrained staff; we interacted with three and all were unsatisfactory.
The first, a door man (stood INSIDE the closed main doors) - stared at us outside, in 34*c heat, with heavy suitcases as we tried in vain to make their woeful ‘self-service’ temperature checker take a reading from our wrists. No offer of help. Not even a smile. It took several minutes, he just continued to eye us with suspicion!
The second, a receptionist, kept us waiting an inordinate amount of time without so much as an apology, despite witnessing another customer push in front of us in the queue, doing nothing about it, and then serving him first.
The third, a different receptionist, denied us access to a tiny splash of milk for our in-room tea tray when we noticed there were no individual milk servings on the tray.
COVID-19 was the excuse for the missing milk jiggers (apparently they are hard to source currently - understandable) - but when I said I’d carry my half-made cup of tea downstairs and allow her to pour a tiny drop of milk into my cup, I was told ‘not possible’ on the basis that I had not purchased the hotels breakfast. What kind of lunacy is that?
On that basis, I’d consider recommending this hotel to travellers looking for a quick pit stop before onward travels, if the rate is preferable, but certainly not for anyone planning a longer stay or for those expecting courtesy, logic, manners, or a customer-centric approach.
