in Milan for the Expo events I went back to Hotel San Guido where my beloved dog is more than welcome. Hotel San Guido represents the warmth of a home where the kindness of the staff makes your stay pleasant and relaxed. The decoration is rather unique every piece of furniture has been carefully chosen with great taste and attention. The location in down town Milano most trendy area is perfect. The city center with its attractions either artistic or fashion oriented are all in reach.

I can agree with most reviewers that this hotel has special touch, especially when it comes to lobby which is filled with antique pieces and calm energy. On the other side, room only suggest what is the idea behind this hotel, they are not in good shape, too dark, mix of fine vintage and cheap furniture and bathroom was really small but nice. Single room was definitely small.
This is hotel that was probably in it’s top form before present times, people working there are older and friendly, kind of crew working together for years, relaxed and kind but don’t expect top service, they were making mistakes but in some sympathique way. Gentleman at reception during day was really pro, helpful and eager to provide quality tips for guests.

If you prefer this kind of energy and don’t insist on top service, brand new rooms and rich breakfast this is at least great place to stay, but if you insist on professional service, top cleanness and don’t care much abut decoration than forget about it.

Room facing the back on the 2nd or 4th floor we found were better than the dark small twin room on the lower floor - spotlessly clean - good nights sleep - hotel in the traditional Italian style - used for a stop over on the way to Florence - good easy walk from the Station - trams
stop right outside the door - very helpful receptionist - good continental breakfast in a small traditional room - good value for money

Room Tip: 2nd or 4th floor double facing rear are far superior

Stayed here during a conference on a recommendation of someone who lived in the area. Good value. Okay location. Easy to get around on the tram. The staff are not particularly that friendly although that may be a language issue. Clean. The shared areas are quite shabby and small but again, we didn't pay too much.
